The highly anticipated NFL Schedule release is finally official. Fans have known for a while who the opponents for the 2024 would be, just not when. Now that the dust has settled on the NFL\u00a0<\/span>draft,<\/span> and rookie mini camps have wrapped up, all eyes are on the full NFL Schedule for the fall. The 2023 Giants had a bad start to the year and ultimately finished with a record of 6-11. Does this year’s schedule offer any glimmers of hope? There are three matchups this year worth taking a look into.<\/span><\/p>\n

Week 2: At Washington<\/span><\/h2>\n

The Commanders Received a Facelift This Offseason<\/span><\/h3>\n

At first look, the Giants Schedule doesn’t look too daunting. In their first ten games before their bye week in week 11, only four of their opponents are playoff teams from a year ago. Their first road game of the season is against a familiar opponent, the\u00a0<\/span>Washington Commanders<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span>The Giants<\/span><\/a>\u00a0have won their last three matchups versus Washington but have since revamped their team from top to bottom. It will be the home debut of electric rookie\u00a0<\/span>Quarterback,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Jayden Daniels<\/span><\/a>. The Commanders have added GM Adam\u00a0<\/span>Peters,<\/span>\u00a0and former Dallas Cowboys Defensive Coordinator Dan\u00a0<\/span>Quinn,<\/span>\u00a0to help rebuild a franchise l0nging for success. Will the Giants continue to assert their dominance against Washington? Or will the new-look Commanders begin to put the league on notice with their new-look roster?<\/span><\/p>\n

Week 7: Versus Philadelphia<\/span><\/h2>\n

Saquon Barkley’s Return<\/span><\/h3>\n

By now, emotions and overreactions have settled on\u00a0<\/span>Saquon’s Barkley<\/span>\u00a0decision<\/span><\/a>\u00a0to leave the Giants and sign with a hated rival, the\u00a0<\/span>Philadelphia Eagles<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span>This<\/span>\u00a0is a critical point in the Giants’ schedule. A\u00a0<\/span>bad<\/span>\u00a0start may put the season out of reach before October\u00a0<\/span>is over<\/span>. Surprisingly, this isn’t a primetime game<\/span>, the<\/span>\u00a0Giants\u00a0<\/span>were sandwiched<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>in<\/span>\u00a0between hosting the\u00a0<\/span>Bengals<\/span><\/a>\u00a0on Sunday night football and traveling to\u00a0<\/span>Pittsburgh<\/span><\/a>\u00a0for a Monday Night game. The Giants need to prove\u00a0<\/span>that they<\/span>\u00a0have closed the gap with the Eagles. The defense will have their hands full dealing with the offensive firepower deployed by Philadelphia. Additionally, it is safe to wonder whether\u00a0<\/span>Daniel Jones<\/span><\/a>\u00a0will be the starting QB or if\u00a0<\/span>Drew Lock<\/span><\/a>\u00a0will be at that point. The tensions will be high for this divisional showdown.<\/span><\/p>\n

Week 15: Versus Baltimore<\/span><\/h2>\n

The Giants’ schedule for the 2024 season is a bit different than years prior. After week 11 (their bye), the Giants’ final seven games only feature two divisional matchups. One intriguing matchup however is against the\u00a0<\/span>Baltimore Ravens<\/span><\/a>, who were one game short of the Super Bowl last season.\u00a0<\/span>The Giants and Ravens met in 2022\u00a0<\/span>which<\/span>\u00a0resulted<\/span>\u00a0in a thrilling 24-20 victory for New York.<\/span>\u00a0The Ravens have gone through some changes<\/span>, they<\/span>\u00a0lost a handful of coaches in the offseason. One could wonder whether new coordinators will\u00a0<\/span>have an impact on<\/span>\u00a0their ceiling this season. If things go well for the Giants, they could\u00a0<\/span>be fighting<\/span>\u00a0for a playoff spot this late in the season. Many consider Baltimore one of the best teams in the AFC<\/span>, can<\/span>\u00a0the Giants hold their own against them?<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite the below-average season in 2023, NFL schedule makers awarded the Giants three primetime games, a Thanksgiving appearance, <\/span>and<\/span>\u00a0an international game. The Giants’ schedule, which includes facing the AFC North and NFC\u00a0<\/span>South<\/span>\u00a0is\u00a0<\/span>a tough<\/span>\u00a0task. However, it presents a tremendous opportunity to measure how much they have closed the gap.<\/span><\/p>\n
