The third day of the draft is always about filling out the roster, getting depth in a position that needs it, and getting guys who <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">at<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0the very\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">least<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> can compete and push the guys higher on the depth chart.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Minnesota Vikings Day Three Recap<\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Round 4 Pick 108: Khyree Jackson CB Oregon<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2024\/04\/15\/khyree-jackson-2024-nfl-draft-profile\/\" target=\"_self\">Khyree Jackson<\/a> is an incredible story. H<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">e was a no-star recruit out of high school, signed with a Juco Program, and ended up quitting football and starting to train for video game tournaments for a few years while working at a grocery store. Then, he g<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">ets<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0a call from a Community College in Kansas and plays there for a year, transfers to East Mississippi Community\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">College,<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0(fans of Last Chance U on Netflix know all about EMCC)\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">then<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0transfers to Alabama, then Oregon for his final year of eligibility.\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">He\u2019s an older prospect at almost 25 years old<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, but his 6\u20193\u201d height\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">and aggressive<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0play style paired with Brian Flores and the style of defense he runs\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">makes this a match made<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0in heaven.<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> In a deep and competitive cornerback room, Jackson will compete with Mekhi Blackmon, Akayleb Evans, Andrew Booth, and free agent Shaquil Griffin, who are all fighting for a wide-open CB2 spot on the depth chart.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Khyree Jackson is a CB prospect in the 2024 draft class. He started all but one game in his collegiate career\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">racking<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0up 52 starts over five years. While he tested well at his pro day, his agility scores were below average, meaning he\u2019ll probably stay as a tackle and will\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">be coached<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0as the future backup swing tackle behind the two pro bowlers on the Vikings roster. His vertical and broad jumps were both elite, which displays\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">great<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0explosion and power off the line of scrimmage. Rouse will compete with veteran David Quessenberry\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">along<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0with<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0other undrafted free agents\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">for<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0a backup tackle spot.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Walter Rouse is a OT prospect in the 2024 draft class. It\u2019s tough to look at kickers for the Vikings without the PTSD that follows them at this position, but ignoring that, Reichard is viewed by many as the best kicker in this draft. Reichard will compete with John Parker Romo, who played in the XFL for the 2023 season.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Round 7 Pick 230: Michael Jurgens IOL Wake Forest<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Michael Jurgens (99% sure no relation to Cam Jurgens, a<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">lineman for the Eagles) played guard and center for the Demon Deacons. He s<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">tarted<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a034 games in his collegiate career and earned All-ACC second-team honors at guard.\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">His weight and bench press testing were\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">both<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0below average at guard, but he makes up for it with his vertical and broad jumps<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, along with<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0an outstanding 3-cone.<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0Jurgens will compete with Tyrese Robinson, who was on the practice squad for the Vikings last year, along with other undrafted free agents, for a backup interior-offensive line spot.
