Great leadership skills and was named a permanent team captain in 2023. In three seasons, he amassed 166 tackles, 18 TFLs, 10 sacks, five QB hurries, three interceptions, two forced fumbles and a pass breakup. Wallace was named to the Butkus Award watch list his junior year and has fantastic speed and range for a player his size at 6’2″, 240 pounds.

I sat down with the Kentucky linebacker at Reese’s Senior Bowl Media Day as he talked about his time in Lexington and what he can bring to an NFL roster in April.

Reese’s Senior Bowl Exclusive Interview: Trevin Wallace – Kentucky LB

LWONFL: I wanted to ask you about your time in Lexington, how did you like playing for Coach Stoops?

Wallace: “I loved playing for Coach Stoops because he’s a well-rounded coach who understands the players. Having that connection with the players is very good.”

LWONFL: How do you feel your career has ascended from where you started in Lexington?

Wallace: “So my career has ascended well. Starting my freshman year being behind a wonderful linebacker and my friend DeAndre Square, he left me a torch, and I took over.”

LWONFL: How do you feel the state of Kentucky Football has grown since you arrived?

Wallace: “It’s grown a lot. Back then, we heard Kentucky is a basketball school but now, sometimes people are like, oh, the football team. I feel like we’re making a name for ourselves and the football team, and I like that about Kentucky.”

LWONFL: How do you feel your first, couple of days here in Mobile have went? Are there any big takeaways from the last two days?

Wallace: “Both days were good. If you make a mistake on the first day, ensure you don’t make it on the second. Just keep moving because you’re being evaluated 24/7. You don’t want any coach seeing you make the same mistake twice.”

LWONFL: How do you feel your defensive coordinator, Brad White has prepared you for the next level?

Wallace: “So he has prepared me real well. Everyone knows Coach White was an NFL coach so he knows the ins and outs of what coaches are looking for. I like Coach White because he’s guided me through the process and has helped me out.”

LWONFL: What are the biggest strengths you think you’d bring to an NFL team?

Wallace: “I’m athletic and fast for my size. You don’t see very many linebackers that are 240 pounds running sideline to sideline. I’m also a powerful dude.”

LWONFL: Thank you for your time. Good luck in the Draft.

Wallace: “Thank you.”

Main Photo: Scott Utterback/Courier Journal-USA TODAY NETWORK

Exclusive interview with linebacker Trevin Wallace from Kentucky at Reese’s Senior Bowl Media Day.

[54,1647
10073,32341
post-160871","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-editorials","category-nfl-draft","tag-2024-nfl-draft","tag-trevin-wallace
["GET
