The Vic Fangio rumors are rampant, and he could soon have a new home. This comes after spending one season in Miami and spending some time in Philadelphia as a consultant. Fangio has anchored many bolstered defenses during his time with the San Francisco 49ers and Chicago Bears.

He also worked as the Denver Broncos head coach from 2019 to 2021. Of course, he moved back to the coordinator position after lacking success in his head coaching gig. The Vic Fangio rumors make sense for Philadelphia since they let go of former defensive coordinator, Sean Desai. Philadelphia’s defense had a disappointing 2023 season, third-most points.

It was also a disaster after taking a blowout loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC Wild Card, 32-9. The Eagles still went 11-6 with a promising offensive lineup, but they lost the NFC East title and the defense was lacking all season. Philadelphia went on a losing streak before Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay offense eventually blew them out of the water.

Fangio does have some promising talent waiting for him if he does decide to sign back with the Eagles. It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out as anything can happen in the NFL.

Vic Fangio Rumors: He Could Sign With the Philadelphia Eagles

How He Would Fit With the Defense

After a disastrous end to their 2023 campaign, the Eagles still have some promising talent that Fangio can fix. This includes a promising young defensive tackle Jalen Carter and defensive end Haason Reddick. Reddick has over 50 sacks in the last four years. However, Philadelphia needs to do some reloading in their depth, and hiring Fangio could be a great addition.

The relationship that Fangio has with the Eagles sets up the future for the team. Philadelphia has the talent, but it’s who mentors them. Fangio would be the missing piece to the puzzle. He still led the Dolphin’s defense with the third-most sacks despite the key injuries of Jalen Ramsey and Bradley Chubb.

But his most well-known stint was with the Chicago Bears. He came in there and changed the Bears’ defense around for the better. Now, he gets to come back home where he was expecting to be all along, and that’s in Philadelphia. However, it’s also fair to point out that other coaches could fit the defensive coordinator job for the Eagles.

Expectations for the Eagles When They Sign Fangio

The Eagles are going to be healthier than ever under Fangio. Miami did deal with some brutal injuries and that may be the reason why there wasn’t much success under his tenure. Imagine if he had a healthy defense with the Dolphins, it would have played out fairly well. While it wasn’t hot with Miami, he has the potential to bring back the old flame with Philadelphia.

The city of brotherly love needs a fresh breath of air and Fangio is the answer that’s likely to be their calling. It didn’t pay off for Hard Rock City, but he has the opportunity to rewrite his NFL coaching tenure. There’s a difference between Fangio and the real deal himself. He didn’t get to be the best version of himself, but now he can.

This hiring could put the Eagles back into the playoff push conversations and Fangio can create a monster out of the defense.

Here’s how the Vic Fangio rumors are swirling after he could sign with the Philadelphia Eagles and could transform the defense.

[21,4,36
3541,1866,9554,730,3073
post-159798","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-eagles","category-dolphins","category-nfl-news","tag-bradley-chubb","tag-haason-reddick","tag-jalen-carter","tag-jalen-ramsey","tag-vic-fangio
["GET
