From wide receiver to offensive tackle, and yes, a few have the Cards taking a quarterback. But fans should be looking at what best helps quarterback Kyler Murray, the passing game, and the running game. The Arizona Cardinals need an offensive tackle with their fourth pick.

Three Offensive Tackles That make Sense with The Fourth Pick

3 – Jordan Morgan, Arizona

If you’re an Arizona Wildcat fan, you know the name Jordan Morgan. Morgan, a local Marana High School product, measures 6 ft.- 6 inches tall and weighs in at 325 lbs. He flirted with the idea of coming out in the 2023 NFL Draft, but a torn ACL towards the end of November scuttled his plan. Instead, Morgan went back to work.

After shaking off the injury, the Wildcat tackle played like the injury had zero effect when on the field. He played in all 12 Arizona games and participated in 670 snaps. Morgan is particularly effective at anticipating stunts and the blitz and working with the offensive line on combination blocks. He has tremendous balance and patience when pass blocking. He is an aggressive run blocker and finishes plays.

Jordan Morgan Arizona Offensive Tackle OT Film Room – “Morgan Island” 20… https://t.co/ta0KuasoXV via @YouTube

— Steve Rivera (@IAmSteveRivera) January 11, 2024

Few outside the PAC-12 will recognize Morgan, which makes him a solid pick at No. 4.

2 – Olu Fashanu, Penn State

Olu Fashanu is a name on the rise that could easily break into the top five or six picks but will not last past the tenth pick. If he does, it’s a steal for a team like the New York Jets (pick 10).

Fashanu attended Gonzaga College High School in Washington D.C. From there, he would commit to playing football at Penn State.

At 6 ft.- 6 inches tall and a stout 321 lbs, Fashanu is a plug-and-play offensive left tackle. With the Cardinals he would be a complimentary piece on the other side of Paris Johnson Jr. Fashanu is a blue-chip prospect with incredible strength and serious length. He is aggressive in the run game and disciplined in pass protection.

What Makes Penn State's Olu Fashanu The Best Left Tackle in College Foot… https://t.co/2QKmeyaOyg via @YouTube

— Steve Rivera (@IAmSteveRivera) January 11, 2024

Fashanu is an absolute beast. For Arizona, skipping the glamor of a wide receiver for an Orlando Pace-like player is smart. He is a generational talent who will not disappoint and will pay dividends for years to come.

A Generational Offensive Tackle for The Cardinals

1 – Joe Alt, Notre Dame

This guy is money in the bank. He is the kind of player you don’t pass on for any reason. Arizona needs a better stronger, more skilled offensive line. Joe Alt delivers that on day one.

The Minnesota native is a behemoth of a man. Alt has incredible measurables beginning with his 6 ft – 8 inches frame. He weighs in at 322 lbs of muscle built to anchor an offensive line. He was a finalist for the Outland Award and was named to the 2023 College Football All-America Team.

Alt will make you think of Cleveland Browns legend and Wisconsin alum Joe Thomas. Alt is explosive off the line and has tremendous flexibility with a blocking range that is off the charts. He will outwork his defensive counterpart and has a high football IQ. Without question, Joe Alt is the real deal.

Scouting Report: Notre Dame Offensive Tackle Joe Alt | 2024 NFL Draft Pr… https://t.co/5oboNGLuoW via @YouTube

— Steve Rivera (@IAmSteveRivera) January 11, 2024

Before drafting a wide receiver, the Arizona Cardinals would be smart to address the offensive line. It protects Murray, adds time for the passing game to develop, and helps evolve a running game still on the launch pad.

Jordan Morgan, Olu Fashanu, and Joe Alt are the only names the Cardinals should be looking at with their first pick. The 2024 NFL Draft allows Arizona to begin rounding out the roster.
