One of my favorite parts is fantasy football. One of my favorite aspects of fantasy football has become playing on DraftKings every week. Every week is like a new puzzle to figure out. Whether you are more of a cash game player or a tournament player, each presents a unique challenge. This week only 60% of my recommendations hit the 2.5x value we look for in cash game lineups. This time the quarterback group led the way tied at a 80% success rate. Meanwhile, the tight end group brought up the rear at a 40% success rate. Personally, it was not a profitable week this week. We\u2019ll look to get it going even better with the picks and get back into the profits in the Week 14 DraftKings plays.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Week 13 \u2013 $440 \u2192 $430 <\/span><b>($10 LOSS)<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Year Total \u2013 $5,408 \u2192 $4,464 <\/span><b>($944 LOSS)<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Quarterbacks<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>Justin Fields (CHI) \u2013 $6,800 v DET<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s been a bit of an up-and-down season for Justin Fields this year for the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/bears\/\" target=\"_self\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chicago Bears<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. He started extremely slow with three straight games under 17 DraftKings points before exploding for 32+ DraftKings points in two straight games. Fields then got hurt the following game and missed the next four games. He\u2019s been back for two weeks now and it\u2019s been a mixed bag. On the season Fields is still averaging 19.2 DraftKings points per game. This week he gets a great matchup against the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/lions\/\" target=\"_self\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Detroit Lions<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The Lions defense was strong to start the year but has taken a step back. They\u2019re stronger against running backs than quarterbacks as well. They\u2019ve allowed the fourth-most DraftKings points to quarterbacks this season. Fields just faced them two weeks ago and had 18 carries for 104 yards in that matchup. In a game where the Bears are three-point home underdogs, Fields should see plenty of dropbacks and be given plenty of opportunities to put up a lot of DraftKings points.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Justin Fields in 3 games against the Lions the last two years:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 147 rushing yards on 13 carries<br \/>\u2022 132 rushing yards on 10 carries<br \/>\u2022 104 rushing yards on 18 carries<\/p>\n<p>100+ rushing yards is +400 at DraftKings<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Connor Allen (@ConnorAllenNFL) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ConnorAllenNFL\/status\/1733156518608908798?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">December 8, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><b>Russell Wilson (DEN) \u2013 $5,800 @ LAC<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Contrary to popular belief, Russell Wilson is having a good season in 2023. He currently has 2,385 passing yards to go along with 21 passing touchdowns and only seven interceptions. Wilson has also chipped in another 310 yards and two touchdowns with his legs. That has allowed him to average 18.1 DraftKings points per game this season. Despite this, his salary has stayed below $6,000 every single week this season. This week Wilson has a nice setup as the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/broncos\/\" target=\"_self\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Denver Broncos<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> take on the Los Angeles Chargers. This game is being played in Los Angeles so it\u2019s in a dome which is a boost to both passing offenses. The<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Chargers<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> defense is also not strong at all. They\u2019ve allowed the fifth-most DraftKings points to quarterbacks so far this year. The Broncos are currently 2.5-point underdogs so the projected game script is also in his favor. Add it all up and Wilson looks like one of the best Week 14 DraftKings plays among all quarterbacks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><i>Others to Consider: Gardner Minshew II<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (IND) \u2013 $5,400 @ CIN, <\/span><\/i><b><i>Brock Purdy<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (SF) \u2013 $6,500 v SEA, <\/span><\/i><b><i>Baker Mayfield<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (TB) \u2013 $5,300 @ ATL<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<h3><b>Running Backs<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>Christian McCaffrey (SF) \u2013 $9,200 v SEA<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Is there ever a bad week to play Christian McCaffrey? The answer to that question has almost always been \u201cno.\u201d McCaffrey is enjoying another monster season in 2023. He currently has 1,032 rushing yards and 12 rushing touchdowns on the season through 12 games. McCaffrey has also caught 51 passes for another 429 yards and five touchdowns as well. He\u2019s averaging 25.8 DraftKings points per game this season which trails only Tyreek Hill among all non-quarterbacks. McCaffrey hasn\u2019t scored less than 14.2 DraftKings points in any single game this season. It\u2019s safe to say he\u2019s &#8220;#goodatthegame.&#8221; On top of that, he gets a juicy matchup this week as the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/49ers\/\" target=\"_self\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">San Francisco 49ers<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> take on the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/seahawks\/\" target=\"_self\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Seattle Seahawks<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Seattle has allowed the fifth-most DraftKings points to running backs this season. The 49ers also have the highest implied team total on the slate at 48.5 points. McCaffrey is an elite player, with elite usage, on an elite offense, in an elite matchup. There\u2019s nothing to dislike here.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Zack Moss (IND) \u2013 $5,900 @ CIN<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I know, I know, it didn\u2019t work last week. The thing is, the usage was absolutely\u00a0<em>elite<\/em> and that type of usage will pay off more times than not, so I\u2019m going right back to the well this week. Moss wasn\u2019t able to overcome the tough matchup last week like he did earlier in the season. He did, however, see a 94% snap rate, 19 carries, and three targets. That\u2019s better than most running backs get weekly. If there\u2019s one silver lining to him struggling last week it\u2019s that his salary didn\u2019t rise as high as it might have if he had a big game. The matchup is also easier this week as the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/colts\/\" target=\"_self\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Indianapolis Colts<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> take on the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/bengals\/\" target=\"_self\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cincinnati Bengals<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The Bengals are not a matchup to fear and this game has a solid 43.5-point combined total. Given the elite usage and a price tag that is still affordable, Moss looks like one of the best Week 14 DraftKings plays at any position once again.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Zack Moss Week 13<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; 94% snaps<br \/>&#8211; 19 carries, 51 yards<br \/>&#8211; 29 routes, 3 targets, 2 catches, 6 yards<\/p>\n<p>Only 7.7 fantasy points but that volume is too good to ignore. Better days ahead<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Michael F. Florio (@MichaelFFlorio) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MichaelFFlorio\/status\/1731506331021115736?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">December 4, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><b><i>Others to Consider: Josh Jacobs<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (LV) \u2013 $6,900 v MIN, <\/span><\/i><b><i>Javonte Williams<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (DEN) &#8211; $5,800 @ LAC, <strong>Clyde Edwards-Helaire<\/strong><\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0(KC) \u2013 $4,200 v BUF, <\/span><\/i><b><i>Zach Charbonnet<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (SEA) \u2013 $5,400 @ SF, <\/span><\/i><b><i>Bijan Robinson<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (ATL) \u2013 $6,500 v TB<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<h3><b>Wide Receivers<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>Michael Pittman Jr. (IND) \u2013 $7,300 @ CIN<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Michael Pittman Jr. has been one of the most consistent wide receivers in fantasy football this season. He\u2019s only had one game in which he scored single-digit DraftKings points. He\u2019s also only had two games with less than seven targets and eight games with at least 11 targets. The touchdowns have been few and far between but in a full PPR format, Pittman has been awesome averaging 17.6 DraftKings points per game this year. There\u2019s no reason to think that changes this week against the Bengals. As previously mentioned this game has a solid 43.5-point implied combined total. The Colts currently sit as 1.5-point underdogs so the projected game script should be in Pittman\u2019s favor. Close games also have better chances of turning into a shootout as well. The matchup is also solid too as the Bengals are middle-of-the-pack in defending opposing wide receivers. With such a high floor due to target volume, Pittman looks like one of the best Week 14 DraftKings plays at wide receiver.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Michael Pittman Jr. is AUTOMATIC.<\/p>\n<p>Double-digit fantasy points in 11\/12 games this year.<\/p>\n<p>&amp; has scored 14+ fantasy points in 7-consecutive games.<\/p>\n<p>\ud83d\udcb0 \ud83d\udcb0 \ud83d\udcb0<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; David J. Gautieri (@GuruFantasyWrld) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GuruFantasyWrld\/status\/1731428902302540114?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">December 3, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><b>Elijah Moore (CLE) \u2013 $4,500 v JAX<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Elijah Moore flashed some big-time potential as a rookie a few years ago and has mostly faded away since then. He entered this season with some sleeper appeal as a guy who might click with Deshaun Watson and get back to those flashes we saw as a rookie. While that hasn\u2019t been the case this season, he has been getting some good usage lately and producing well more often than not. Moore has 35 targets over the last four weeks and at least seven targets in all four of those games. He\u2019s scored at least 12 DraftKings points in three of those four games. This last week he set season highs in both targets (12) and receiving yards (83) in his first game with Joe Flacco. If you haven\u2019t heard by now, he and Flacco have a connection dating back to their Jets days. Amari Cooper left the last game with a concussion and hasn\u2019t practiced all week so it seems unlikely he will play leaving Moore as the top wideout. This week he gets a nice matchup as the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/browns\/\" target=\"_self\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cleveland Browns<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> face the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/jaguars\/\" target=\"_self\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jacksonville Jaguars<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Jacksonville has allowed the seventh-most DraftKings points to wide receivers this season. Moore looks like a great salary-saving option this week.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><i>Others to Consider: Jaxon Smith-Njigba<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (SEA) \u2013 $4,100 @ SF, <\/span><\/i><b><i>Jonathan Mingo<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (CAR) \u2013\u00a0 $3,500 @ NO, <\/span><\/i><b><i>Garrett Wilson<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (NYJ) \u2013 $5,500 v HOU, <\/span><\/i><b><i>Drake London<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (ATL) \u2013 $4,600 v TB, <\/span><\/i><b><i>Keenan Allen<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (LAC) \u2013 $8,600 v DEN, <\/span><\/i><b><i>Rashee Rice <\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(KC) \u2013 $5,400 v BUF<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<h3><b>Tight Ends<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>David Njoku (CLE) \u2013 $4,100 v JAX<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Two Browns pass catchers with Joe Flacco at the helm, what could go wrong? Up until last week, David Njoku had been playing great. He had six straight games with double-digit DraftKings points. Last week he only had 3.7 DraftKings points but the encouraging part was he had six targets still. As previously mentioned, Amari Cooper seems likely to miss this game which should be a boost to Njoku\u2019s target share. The matchup against the Jaguars is a solid one. Their linebackers give up a lot of YAC which is Njoku\u2019s specialty as he leads all TEs in YAC this season. It seems like a matchup made in heaven and that makes Njoku one of the best Week 14 DraftKings plays at the position.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The biggest mismatch on Sunday will be TE David Njoku vs the Jaguars LBs <\/p>\n<p>Njoku leads all TEs in YAC this season(398) and is T-12 in the NFL<\/p>\n<p>The starting LBs for Jacksonville<br \/>Foyesade Oluokun(376) &amp; Devin Lloyd(294) are both top 10 in most YAC given up by a defender<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Dawgpound?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">#Dawgpound<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/jGPG8x9SHc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pic.twitter.com\/jGPG8x9SHc<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Mac\ud83e\uddac (@tha_buffalo) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tha_buffalo\/status\/1733143033208578107?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">December 8, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><b>Tyler Conklin (NYJ) \u2013 $3,000 v HOU<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tyler Conklin has had a few games here and there of fantasy relevance but for the most part has been off the radar this season. Heading into the year he had some deep sleeper appeal as a guy tied to Aaron Rodgers. After Rodgers went down, that all flew out of the window. Last week, however, Conklin drew nine targets. He only caught three of them for 35 yards good for 6.5 DraftKings points but that target volume is very nice for someone with such a cheap price tag. This week the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/jets\/\" target=\"_self\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">New York Jets<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are putting Zach Wilson back in as the starting quarterback which is surprisingly a nice upgrade for the Jets pass catchers, including Conklin. On top of that, this matchup against the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/texans\/\" target=\"_self\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Houston Texans<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is one of the best for tight ends. The Texans have allowed the seventh-most DraftKings points to tight ends this year. The Jets are 3.5-point home underdogs too so they should be throwing plenty. Conklin is a great salary-saving option this week.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><i>Others to Consider: Kyle Pitts<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (ATL) \u2013 $3,700 v TB, <\/span><\/i><b><i>Isaiah Likely<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (BAL) \u2013 $3,500 v LAR, <strong>Brevin Jordan<\/strong><\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0(HOU) \u2013 $3,100 @ NYJ<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<h3><b>Defense\/Special Teams<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In terms of choosing a defense\/special teams, it\u2019s the last spot I fill in every week. It\u2019s pretty random but there are a few areas to gain an advantage. I aim to target the heavily favored teams as they usually play with a lead. This forces their opponent to throw it more often, which can help lead to extra sacks, turnovers, and hopefully a touchdown. Another aspect to target is turnover and sack-prone quarterbacks.
