Kirk Cousins likely tore his Achilles tendon, Kenny Pickett is hurt, even Tyrod Taylor (the Giants backup) went down causing Tommy Devito to get his first NFL touchdown. In addition to QB options, who are the best waiver wire options for Week 9 fantasy football?

[cta id=445 type=cta]

Week 9 Waiver Wire – Quarterback Injuries Highlight Options

Will Levis, QB Tennessee Titans

This is mainly for Superflex leagues but Will Levis looks like everything the Titans dreamed about when they selected him in the second round. His cannon of an arm was on full display en route to a four TD performance against Atlanta. If he’s on waivers in Superflex leagues (currently 7% rostered on Sleeper) he’s a must add player. Even in 1QB leagues with bye weeks for Brock Purdy Jared Goff Trevor Lawrence and Russell Wilson, Levis is a high upside play against Pittsburgh’s struggling pass defense. Levis secured the job with Tannehill now involved in trade rumors across the league.

Sam Howell, QB Washington Commanders

Admittedly Howell has a higher order of precedence but is lower on this list because he should already be rostered in most leagues. He’s currently the QB8 on the season, and that’s including his stinker against the Buffalo Bills. He’s got a tough matchup against New England in Week 9, but after that it’s smooth sailing against the Seattle Seahawks and New York Giants. Sam Howell is currently rostered in 46% of leagues on Sleeper and 30% on ESPN.

Devin Singletary, RB Houston Texans

Everyone’s late round darling in 2022 Dameon Pierce is reportedly not a good fit for the scheme in Houston. The RB that is a good fit? Singletary. He’s become more and more involved in the offense and has the pass catching chops to be useful in PPR leagues. Even better, he’s readily available in over 67% of leagues on ESPN.

Chuba Hubbard, RB Carolina Panthers

Miles Sanders lost the job. Chuba took the majority of the touches in Week 8 as Bryce Young secured his first victory. Hubbard isn’t going to be a RB1 by any means, but as a RB2 or FLEX play with bye weeks coming up, there’s worse options to have. He should already be rostered in the majority of leagues, but it’s worth checking if someone dropped him when Miles Sanders returned from injury. He’s available in 57% of leagues on ESPN.

Trayveon Williams, RB Cincinnati Bengals

For the extra deep roster stash this week, Williams is the handcuff to Joe Mixon. While that in and of itself isn’t too exciting, the Bengals schedule for the next month and a half is extremely kind to running backs. To get out in front of a run to the waiver wire, Williams is worth a bench spot if you have room. Available in over 90% of leagues on all platforms.

Demario “Pop” Douglas, WR New England Patriots

The sixth-round rookie is making waves on the field, and with the news that Kendrick Bourne is out for the season Douglas is a must add. He led the team with five catches in Week 8 and profiles as the team’s number one receiver moving forward. He’s a WR3 with upside and available in over 90% of leagues on all platforms.

Taysom Hill, TE/QB/RB New Orleans Saints

Hill is tight end eligible on most fantasy apps and plays every position on the field. It shouldn’t take more explanation than that, but he’s put up ten or more fantasy points for three games in a row. As long as he’s a cog in the Saints offense, he’s a must play tight end in fantasy. Taysom Hill is available in 58% of leagues on Sleeper and 85% on ESPN.

Hunter Henry, TE New England Patriots

Kendrick Bourne’s injury won’t just impact Douglas. Henry started the season hot, then fell off and is now available in over 70% of leagues. When looking for a tight end to stream the number two option on a team isn’t the worst idea. He has two favorable matchups back-to-back before heading into a bye week and is one of the top options on the waiver wire Week 9.

Indianapolis Colts D/ST

The best fantasy managers target bad offenses with their defenses. The Colts play the Panthers who average 18.1 points per game. Not exactly a scary matchup, and the Colts are available in over 90% of leagues on Sleeper.

Universal Responsible Gambling Disclaimer:

Ages 21+. Gambling Problem?
