You\u2019ll be missing studs like <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2023\/07\/07\/tony-pollard-2023-fantasy-football-outlook\/\" target=\"_self\">Tony Pollard<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2023\/08\/05\/derrick-henry-2023-fantasy-football-outlook\/\" target=\"_self\">Derrick Henry<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2023\/08\/25\/joe-mixon-2023-fantasy-football-outlook\/\" target=\"_self\">Joe Mixon<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2023\/05\/06\/breece-hall-2023-fantasy-outlook\/\" target=\"_self\">Breece Hall<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2023\/10\/03\/8-players-to-buy-and-sell-in-fantasy-football-week-5\/\" target=\"_self\">Dameon Pierce<\/a> this week. However, this leaves opportunities for bench stashes and waiver wire pickups the chance to shine in your starting lineups. The running back rankings have a lot of turnover heading into week 7, but it\u2019s really testing the depth at the position. These are the running backs you should prioritize this week.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Fantasy Football Week 7 Running Back Rankings<\/h2>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tier 1: Elite RB1<\/span><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Christian McCaffrey*<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Austin Ekeler<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Bijan Robinson<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2023\/08\/21\/christian-mccaffrey-2023-fantasy-football-outlook\/\" target=\"_self\">Christian McCaffrey<\/a> now has <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/ninernoise.com\/posts\/christian-mccaffrey-continues-scoring-streak-end-zone-browns\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">15 consecutive touchdowns<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Not many players have the same type of safe floor McCaffrey possesses. His health is in question, but if he&#8217;s active, you&#8217;re playing him. Austin Ekeler is back. After an early multi-game absence heading into the bye week, he returned last Monday night to put up 10.2 points against the Dallas Cowboys. When he\u2019s healthy, Ekeler is a staple top 3 player among the running back rankings. <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2023\/03\/12\/bijan-robinson-2023-nfl-draft-profile\/\" target=\"_self\">Bijan Robinson<\/a>\u2019s stellar rookie season continues. His upside is a high-end RB1 every time he steps onto the football field. Alvin Kamara\u2019s unique ability to lead the Saints in rushing and receiving yards any given week keeps him cemented in the RB1 conversation. Saquon Barkley returned from injury last week too. The New York Giants desperately needed his playmaking ability and will remain a focal point on offense.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The other three players may not get a lot of targets in the passing game, but they do most of their damage running the football. Josh Jacobs is dominating the backfield touches in Las Vegas and now faces a subpar Bears rush defense. <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2023\/05\/10\/2023-fantasy-football-kenneth-walker-dynasty-outlook\/\" target=\"_self\">Kenneth Walker<\/a> also gets a favorable matchup against a divisional opponent, the<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2023\/10\/13\/arizona-cardinals-trade-deadline-kyler-murray-budda-baker\/\" target=\"_self\"> Arizona Cardinals<\/a>, who\u2019s given up 133.3 rushing yards per game. <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2023\/08\/26\/dandre-swift-2023-fantasy-football-outlook\/\" target=\"_self\">D\u2019Andre Swift<\/a> is going to be in a track meet this week when the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2023\/10\/14\/3-ways-to-improve-the-eagles-secondary\/\" target=\"_self\">Eagles<\/a> take on the Miami Dolphins. It should be the highest-scoring game of the week and all players involved should get a boost in the rankings.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tier 3: Borderline RB1\/RB2<\/span><\/h3>\n<ol start=\"9\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Aaron Jones<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Kyren Williams*<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Travis Etienne<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Jonathan Taylor<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This part of the running back rankings is all players that can just take over a game any given week. <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2023\/07\/31\/aaron-jones-2023-fantasy-football-profile\/\" target=\"_self\">Aaron Jones<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2023\/10\/15\/pittsburgh-steelers-green-bay-packers-bye-week-offenses\/\" target=\"_self\">Packers<\/a> have the luxury of going against the Denver Broncos and their <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/stats\/team\/_\/view\/defense\/table\/passing\/sort\/netYardsPerGame\/dir\/desc\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">bottom-ranked defense<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Jones should look fresh coming back from an injury and his bye week. Travis Etienne has been on an absolute tear lately but gets a tough matchup against a Saints run defense that hasn\u2019t allowed an RB1 finish all season. <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2023\/07\/28\/jonathan-taylor-fantasy-football-outlook\/\" target=\"_self\">Jonathan Taylor<\/a>\u2019s usage ramped up last week on his way to 11.5 fantasy points. Positive sign to see as he gets back into the swing of things.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2023\/10\/03\/8-players-to-buy-and-sell-in-fantasy-football-week-5\/\" target=\"_self\">Kyren Williams<\/a> is getting elite usage as the Rams top running back. He&#8217;s dealing with an injury and is at risk of missing the game. If he suits up, he&#8217;s got a good matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tier 4: High End RB2<\/span><\/h3>\n<ol start=\"13\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Isiah Pacheco<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Brian Robinson<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Raheem Mostert<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Rachaad White<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> David Montgomery*<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> James Cook<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These players have safe floors as RB2s but have the upside to finish the week as RB1s. <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2023\/07\/07\/isiah-pacheco-fantasy-football-outlook\/\" target=\"_self\">Isiah Pacheco<\/a> has a firm grasp of the Kansas City backfield and is getting more involved in the passing game. He\u2019s a great start in what should be a high-scoring game against the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2023\/10\/12\/chargers-rookies-quentin-johnston-tuli-tuipulotu\/\" target=\"_self\">Chargers<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2023\/09\/08\/brian-robinson-jr-2023-fantasy-football-outlook\/\" target=\"_self\">Brian Robinson<\/a> has been halted the last couple of games, but he should get back on track versus the Giants. <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2023\/03\/14\/raheem-mostert-signs-contract-with-miami-dolphins\/\" target=\"_self\">Raheem Mostert<\/a> is just a touchdown machine. Among all non-quarterback players, he leads the league with 11 touchdowns through six weeks and now will be in a likely shootout against the Eagles.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rachaad White remains the only running back on the team to have any sort of role. He\u2019ll continue being a safe weekly option as long as he keeps dominating the backfield touches. Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell recently said David Montgomery can handle \u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbssports.com\/nfl\/news\/why-jahmyr-gibbs-fantasy-owners-should-be-concerned-after-hearing-dan-campbells-comments-on-david-montgomery\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">25-30 carries<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d a game. With that type of workload, Montgomery has a safe weekly floor. If he\u2019s active, you\u2019re playing him. However, he is dealing with a rib injury that could sideline him, so keep tabs on the injury report leading up to the game.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tier 5: Borderline RB2\/RB3<\/span><\/h3>\n<ol start=\"19\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Jerome Ford<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Javonte Williams<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Rhamondre Williams<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Roschon Johnson*<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Jaylen Warren<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Najee Harris<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Jahmyr Gibbs*<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Browns went with a double-headed running back attack last week with PJ Walker under center. Jerome Ford out-touched <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2023\/09\/20\/fantasy-football-impact-of-kareem-hunt-signing\/\" target=\"_self\">Kareem Hunt<\/a> 19 to 15, but Hunt got the touchdown. It\u2019s something to monitor moving forward, but as long as <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2023\/07\/22\/deshaun-watson-browns-training-camp\/\" target=\"_self\">Deshaun Watson<\/a> remains out or limited, the Browns will likely be a run-heavy offense. Javonte Williams barely has a hold of the starting gig right now. He out-touched Jaleel McLaughlin 10 to 7 but played fewer snaps. Maybe <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2023\/10\/11\/broncos-trade-deadline-jerry-jeudy-courtland-sutton-justin-simmons\/\" target=\"_self\">Denver<\/a> was easing him back after an injury, or the undrafted rookie made an impression on Sean Payton.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2023\/04\/10\/roschon-johnson-2023-nfl-draft-profile\/\" target=\"_self\">Roschon Johnson<\/a> clears the concussion protocol he\u2019s a popular pick to lead the Bears\u2019 backfield. The rookie has looked good when given the opportunity. Until <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2023\/06\/30\/najee-harris-2023-fantasy-football-profile\/\" target=\"_self\">Najee Harris<\/a> shows life in the Steelers backfield, he\u2019ll remain behind teammate <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2023\/10\/10\/fantasy-football-buy-sell-week-6\/\" target=\"_self\">Jaylen Warren<\/a> in the running back rankings. Warren\u2019s receiving upside gives him the edge between the two each week, and oddly enough, he\u2019s second on the team in receptions (21). <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2023\/08\/29\/jahmyr-gibbs-2023-fantasy-football-outlook\/\" target=\"_self\">Jahmyr Gibbs<\/a> has missed back-to-back games but could be in for a large role if David Montgomery is limited or forced to miss time.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tier 6: RB3 With RB2 Upside<\/span><\/h3>\n<ol start=\"26\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Alexander Mattison<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Jaleel McLaughlin<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Keaontay Ingram<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> D\u2019Onta Foreman<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2023\/09\/21\/cam-akers-alexander-mattison-fantasy-football-outlook\/\" target=\"_self\">Alexander Mattison<\/a> is averaging 16.7 touches per game but isn\u2019t doing much with them at 11.73 PPG. Next up is a date with an angry San Francisco 49ers team. Jaleel McLaughlin might be here to stay. He led all Denver running backs in snap share (40%) last Thursday night. As long as McLaughlin stays involved, he\u2019ll be in RB3 territory within the running back rankings. Keontay Ingram was the top back in Arizona last week. He paced the backfield with 12 touches. With <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2023\/09\/04\/james-conner-fantasy-football-outlook-2023\/\" target=\"_self\">James Conner<\/a> out, Ingram is the top back until proven otherwise. D\u2019Onta Foreman was in control of the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2023\/09\/22\/chicago-bears-misusing-justin-fields\/\" target=\"_self\">Chicago Bears<\/a> backfield last week with all the injuries. Foreman carried the ball 15 times for 65 yards. Depending on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/story\/_\/id\/38666048\/justin-fields-exits-right-hand-injury-third-quarter\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">health of Justin Fields<\/a>, it could be a heavy dose of Foreman and Roschon Johnson next week.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tier 7: Flex Play Desperation<\/span><\/h3>\n<ol start=\"30\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> AJ Dillon<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Tyler Allgeier<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Justice Hill<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Gus Edwards<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Zack Moss<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Kareem Hunt<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Jordan Mason \/ Elijah Mitchell*<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Zach Evans*<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chances are you have one of the running backs on a bye this week and need someone to fill a starting spot. These are some of the best players if you\u2019re in need of a weekly spot start. <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2023\/04\/20\/aj-dillon-faces-make-or-break-2023\/\" target=\"_self\">AJ Dillon<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2023\/08\/14\/tyler-allgeier-2023-fantasy-football-outlook\/\" target=\"_self\">Tyler Allgeier<\/a> are both getting double-digit carries a game and could fall into the endzone any given week. <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2019\/09\/04\/draft-gus-edwards-justice-hill-fantasy-football\/\" target=\"_self\">Justice Hill and Gus Edwards<\/a> keep splitting the rushing load in Baltimore, but Hill still has the receiving upside for that extra boost. Zack Moss has gone back-to-back weeks outscoring teammate Jonathan Taylor. Look for him to stay involved.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Cleveland Browns got Kareem Hunt more touches coming out of the bye and even found the endzone. The duo has a good matchup against the Indianapolis Colts that just allowed two rushing touchdowns. It appears Jordan Mason has surpassed Elijah Mitchell on the depth chart. However, their relevance depends solely on the health of Christian McCaffrey. Monitor the practice statuses and injury reports leading up to the game. If McCaffrey is out, they\u2019re both worth a flier in the flex. <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2023\/04\/18\/zach-evans-2023-nfl-draft-profile\/\" target=\"_self\">Zach Evans<\/a> is another running back who could be boosted up the depth chart with both Kyren Williams and Ronnie Rivers dealing with injuries.
