He retains his spot as the premier tight end in fantasy football and the real NFL. T.J. Hockensen had a massive game in Week 2 and now gets to face one of the worst defenses in the league this season, jumping him into this tier of tight end rankings for the first time this season. Mark Andrews was the TE3 last week with his 45 yards and a touchdown and saw eight targets in that game.

Tier 2: Solid Starters

Darren Waller

Evan Engram

Dallas Goedert

Hunter Henry

Sam LaPorta

Darren Waller saw an improvement in his performance with New York playing Arizona instead of Dallas and showcased why he was so heavily targeted this draft season. With Daniel Jones at quarterback, Waller doesn’t quite have the upside of the elite options, but he’s good enough to lead this tier of tight end rankings. Evan Engram has been consistently solid, scoring 10 and 12 points to open the season.

After his Week 1 goose egg, Dallas Goedert caught six passes in Week 2, showing that he still has a role in this offense. Hunter Henry has had the biggest tight end breakout to start the season. While it’s unlikely his overall TE2 status will continue, he is clearly a priority target for Mac Jones. Rookie Sam LaPorta has been extremely solid to start the season, scoring 9 and 11 fantasy points in his first two games.

Tier 3: Back-end TE1s

George Kittle

Zach Ertz

Pat Freiermuth

Dalton Kincaid

Kyle Pitts

Although he’s extremely talented, George Kittle, who was once among the elite in tight end rankings, has finished outside the top 30 in both weeks this season. The 49ers offense is crowded, and it’s cost him so far. Zach Ertz has been the number-one target for quarterback Josh Dobbs, and while his ceiling is very low, he has PPR’d his way into two straight solid games. Pat Freiermuth may start to see more volume soon as Pittsburgh tries to recover from Diontae Johnson’s injury. However, in the first game without Johnson, Freiermuth caught just one pass.

Dalton Kincaid, another rookie tight end, has shown a solid floor through Buffalo’s first two games, scoring seven and nine points. Kyle Pitts is probably still a fantasy starter off talent alone. However, he’s seen just eight targets this season in Atlanta’s uber-run-heavy offensive attack. Another poor game could see him slip into the next tier of tight end rankings.

Dalton Kincaid continues to punish DBs once he has the ball in his hands. However, that is still a decent floor given how bad the tight end position is at the lower end. Tyler Higbee was targeted seven times last week, but it only translated to three catches for 12 yards.

Dak Prescott has supported tight end production in the past, and Jake Ferguson caught a touchdown last week, but he only has 22 yards all season. Hayden Hurst had a huge Week 1 game but followed it up with only five points last week, preventing him from moving up in the tight end rankings. He was targeted just twice in Week 2. Gerald Everett has been consistently okay, scoring four and eight points in the first two games.

Tier 5: Dart Throws

Luke Musgrave

Logan Thomas

Headlining the last tier of tight end rankings is Luke Musgrave, a talented rookie tight end on a Packers team that might be without Christian Watson for a third straight week. The concern is that Musgrave has received just seven targets all year. Logan Thomas sits as the TE8 after a strong start to the season. Unfortunately, he is dealing with a concussion, and even if cleared, plays a very good Bills defense.

Universal Responsible Gambling Disclaimer: Ages 21+.
