Transitioning from one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/nfl\/vikings\/news\/buccaneers-officially-name-starting-qb-week-1-vikings\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Baker Mayfield<\/a> will have its growing pains. The drastic change was enough to mark the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2023\/03\/03\/buccaneers-brady-replacement\/\" target=\"_self\">Tampa Bay Buccaneers<\/a> having the <a href=\"https:\/\/sportsbook.fanduel.com\/navigation\/nfl?tab=divisions\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">worst odds<\/a> to win the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2023\/06\/04\/nfc-south-betting-odds\/\" target=\"_self\">NFC South<\/a>\u00a0after\u00a0winning back-to-back division titles. Not only that but they\u2019re also projected to be a<a href=\"https:\/\/www.profootballnetwork.com\/2024-nfl-mock-draft-caleb-williams-stands-tall-and-ohio-state-wrs-make-history\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> top-five draft selection<\/a> in the 2024 NFL draft. He\u2019s accomplished this feat every single year he\u2019s been in the league despite playing with five different starting quarterbacks. Adding on, Evans\u2019 worst fantasy finish was WR23 and that was with rookie <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2022\/04\/16\/jameis-winston-new-orleans-saints-super-bowl\/\" target=\"_self\">Jameis Winston<\/a>\u00a0back in 2015. In his nine-year career, Evans has been a top-12 PPR fantasy wide receiver four times and a top-24 the other five seasons. Tom Brady retired and now Evans will have a new passer under center. His worst finish was w\/ a rookie Jameis Winston, yet still was a low end WR2. He helped Jarvis Landry on his way to a top-12 and top-24 fantasy finish in PPR formats. Mayfield also had one season where he had two 1000-yard wide receivers, Jarvis Landry and <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2023\/08\/25\/odell-beckham-baltimore-ravens-fit\/\" target=\"_self\">Odell Beckham Jr.<\/a> Mayfield produced three players to go over 200 PPR fantasy points as well. That\u2019s good news for Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. Over Mayfield\u2019s four-year stint with Cleveland, there was only one season, his final, where his WR1 finished outside the top 36. However, that was mainly due to Jarvis Landry only playing in 12 games that season. Drafting a wide receiver going in the low WR3 range that\u2019s never finished outside of a WR2 is good value. Then you have the pursuit of breaking records. Evans has his mind set on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nfl.com\/news\/buccaneers-wr-mike-evans-aiming-for-jerry-rice-s-consecutive-1-000-yard-season\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">breaking Jerry Rice\u2019s record<\/a> of 11-straight 1000-yard seasons. He won&#8217;t let Baker Mayfield, nor anyone for that matter, stand in his way of that. With every fantasy selection, there is risk, but Mike Evans is worth the gamble. There have been receivers in the NFL tabbed as \u201cQB proof\u201d, so why can\u2019t Mike Evans be the next?
