{"id":139226,"date":"2023-03-12T14:00:44","date_gmt":"2023-03-12T18:00:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/?p=139226"},"modified":"2023-03-11T20:47:33","modified_gmt":"2023-03-12T01:47:33","slug":"lamar-jackson-trade-jets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2023\/03\/12\/lamar-jackson-trade-jets\/","title":{"rendered":"Only One Team Makes Sense In A Lamar Jackson Trade"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As everyone knows by now, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2023\/03\/10\/lamar-jackson-non-exclusive-tag-was-a-masterstroke\/\" target=\"_self\">Lamar Jackson received the non-exclusive franchise tag<\/a> from the Baltimore Ravens.\u00a0 This tag cost will be $32.1 million, though he has thus far, refused to sign it.\u00a0 What this means is that other teams can make Jackson an offer and the Ravens are able to either match that offer and keep him or let him go and collect two first-round picks.<\/p>\n<h2>The One Team That Needs to Pursue A Lamar Jackson Trade<\/h2>\n<p>Thus far we have heard more about teams stating that they <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2023\/03\/08\/lamar-jackson-reasons-nobody-wants\/\" target=\"_self\">would not pursue signing Jackson<\/a> than teams who will make an effort.\u00a0 This seems a little counterintuitive when there are so many teams in need of a franchise quarterback.\u00a0 So far, reports indicated that the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/falcons\/\" target=\"_self\">Atlanta Falcons<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/dolphins\/\" target=\"_self\">Miami Dolphins<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/panthers\/\" target=\"_self\">Carolina Panthers<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/commanders\/\" target=\"_self\">Washington Commanders<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/raiders\/\" target=\"_self\">Las Vegas Raiders<\/a> will not pursue him.<\/p>\n<p>Per <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-us\/sports\/nfl\/jj-watt-openly-asks-the-question-many-are-asking-about-lamar-jackson-s-situation\/ar-AA18ljBa?ocid=entnewsntp&amp;cvid=88113c3f7f6c484e8cdf4110135d0ccc&amp;ei=110\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sports Illustrated<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/W\/WattJ.00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">JJ Watt<\/a> and others have even come out as being confused by this turn of events.\u00a0 Is this the Ravens trying to unload Jackson?\u00a0 Is this the Ravens trying to test the market to see what others are willing to pay so they can set their price?\u00a0 No one knows at the moment, and it may take a while to see if there are any suitors for Jackson.\u00a0 He does have an injury history, and this could play a part into it.\u00a0 The running part of his game may significantly reduce the years he has left.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Why are all of these teams so publicly \u201cout\u201d on Lamar Jackson, an MVP winner in his prime at the most important position in the entire NFL?
