As a Buckeye, Lewis logged significant playing time in his final three years as a defensive end. In his time in college, Lewis logged 112 tackles, 37.0 for loss, and 23.5 sacks to go with five forced fumbles.

At the tail end of the second round, Lewis was selected as the fourth edge rusher taken. As a rookie, Lewis appeared in eight games and started six after missing the first half of the season on IR with a toe injury. In his first action, he recorded three tackles and a pass break-up. Lewis maintained that little bit of production up until Week 15 where he recorded his first two career sacks.

In his second season, Lewis battled injuries and only appeared in nine games, recording any stats in five and finished with just five tackles, one for loss, one pass deflection, and a quarterback hit. Then, for the first time in his career, Lewis appeared in every game and started four times. To this point, 2020 was a career year for Lewis as he amassed 4.0 sacks, 24 tackles, eight tackles for loss, six quarterback hits, and a pair of pass deflections.

As it is, 2020 was a career year. In 2021, Lewis appeared in the first eight games but suffered a season-ending injury after managing just 2.5 sacks, 14 tackles, six quarterback hits, and an interception. Following the 2021 season, the Colts brought Lewis back on a one-year deal. Unfortunately, it was more of the same. Lewis appeared in seven of the first eight games then suffered a season-ending injury.

Main Image: Jenna Watson/IndyStar / USA TODAY

Tyquan Lewis, a five-year veteran on the defensive line, signs a contract with the Indianapolis Colts.
