While the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs are preparing for Sunday’s big game, NFL bettors can begin to prepare for next season.

Early 2024 Super Bowl Odds Already Out

The current favorite for Super Bowl 58 is the current AFC Champions, the Kansas City Chiefs. The NFC Champions, the Philadelphia Eagles are fourth at +850 behind the Buffalo Bills at +700 and the San Francisco 49ers at +750.

Rounding out the top 10 are the Cincinnati Bengals at +900, Dallas Cowboys at +1,400, the Los Angeles Chargers at +2,200, the Baltimore Ravens at +2,500, and the New York Jets at +2,500. Other notable odds are the Green Bay Packers at +3,000, the Los Angeles Rams at +3,500, and the Minnesota Vikings at +5,000, The three longest odds belong to the Arizona Cardinals and Indianapolis Colts at +10,000 each while the Houston Texas are an astronomical +15,000. Massachusetts residents can check out all of the sportsbook’s promos to get in on the action for Super Bowl 57, Super Bowl 58, and more as the state of Massachusetts continues to roll out sports betting in the state.

Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs being the Super Bowl favorites for Super Bowl 58 should come as no surprise. Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes have led the AFC’s premier franchise to five straight AFC Championship games and three Super Bowls in five seasons with one Super Bowl win under their belt already. No matter who the Chiefs may lose on the offensive side of the ball this year, they should be just fine next season. After all, they lost one of the league’s best weapons in Tyreek Hill this past offseason and still put up the league’s top offense both in total yards and points per game.

Buffalo Bills

The Bills at +700 is also not all that surprising, with perennial MVP candidate Josh Allen at quarterback, the Bills have had disappointing ends to each of their last few seasons but perhaps the 2023-2024 season is the year they get over the hump. If they’re going to do so, the Bills front office will need to find more offensive weapons for Allen as well as supplying upgrades on both lines of scrimmage. Not only will the Bills have to try and supplant the Chiefs but they’ll also need to find a way to get past the Cincinnati Bengals, who defeated them in this season’s AFC Divisional Round 24-20.

San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers at +750 ahead of the NFC Champion, Philadelphia Eagles is a bit of a surprise. Despite making a trip to the NFC Championship game this season, it’s still unclear who will lead the team at quarterback next season.

Veteran Jimmy Garoppolo is a free agent and won’t be returning to the franchise, former top-three pick Trey Lance is coming off a season-ending ankle injury while Brock Purdy burst on the scene late in the season as a rookie, helping lead the 49ers to the NFC Championship game before suffering a UCL injury in the first quarter of that game against the Eagles.

Both Lance and Purdy are expected to be ready for training camp but Purdy’s play at the end of the season has created a quarterback controversy in the Bay Area. In 13 regular season games, Purdy went 5-0 with a 67.4% completion percentage for over 1,300 yards and 13 touchdowns to just four interceptions. He also helped the 49ers to a pair of playoff wins over the Seattle Seahawks in the Wild Card round and the Dallas Cowboys in the Divisional Round. Had Purdy not suffered a UCL injury in the NFC Championship game, it may not be a conversation of who would be the 49ers starting quarterback next season. However, now with both young quarterbacks coming off rather significant injuries and both only having short sample sizes in their career thus far, how the 49ers will handle the situation at quarterback will be one of the more intriguing storylines to follow this offseason.

The one thing for sure, however, is the 49ers have one of the league’s best defenses and collection of offensive talent headlined by running back Christian McCaffery, wide receiver Deebo Samuel, and tight end Greg Kittle. With this exceptional crop of talent, will the 49ers potentially explore the trade market this offseason at the position?

It’s not out of the question, the Green Bay Packers reportedly would prefer to trade Aaron Rodgers out of the conference and to an AFC team but with a wide range of assets, the 49ers could potentially put together an impressive trade package for the future hall of fame quarterback. Other names that could be available in trades or in free agency include Derek Carr, Ryan Tannehill, Daniel Jones, and Geno Smith.

Philadelphia Eagles

The aforementioned Philadelphia Eagles are +800, could that number rise if they knock off the Chiefs in Super Bowl 57? It surely could. That being said, the Eagles should be one of the favorites thanks to having a budding star at quarterback in Jalen Hurts as well as a collection of offensive talent returning in 2023 including WR AJ Brown, WR DeVonta Smith, and TE Dallas Goedert. Running back Miles Sanders could also return but is set to be a free agent. The Eagles also will return much of the talent from their defense this season, which was one of the league’s best and has recorded nearly 80 sacks through the regular season and postseason combined.

Cincinnati Bengals

The final team with odds under +100 is the Cincinnati Bengals at +900. Like the Chiefs, Bills, and Eagles, the Bengals have a young star quarterback in the form of Joe Burrow. They also have a great offense built around the wide receiver trio of JaMaar Chase, Tee Higgins, and Tyler Boyd.

Others

One of the more intriguing odds is the New York Jets at +2,500, the 10th best in the league. This number likely resides on the thought that the Jets will upgrade the quarterback position this offseason. The Jets put together a respectable season in 2022 just missing the playoffs with Zach Wilson and Mike White at quarterback. With a strong defense, consistent quarterback play may be the only thing keeping the Jets from the postseason.

The early odds also tell the story of the changing of the guard in the NFL that has happened over the last few years. Once perennial contenders in the Green Bay Packers, Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Rams, New Orleans Saints, New England Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Seattle Seahawks all find themselves as significant longshots this offseason.

Super Bowl 58 is currently scheduled for February 11, 2024 at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise (Las Vegas), Nevada, home of the Las Vegas Raiders.
