Experience over exposure. That is one way to look at the Chicago Bears’ handling of their offensively of late, specifically when it comes to right tackle. A position that was up for grabs this summer ultimately went to second-year man Larry Borom<\/a>. But, after a concussion knocked him out of action for a couple of weeks, it was Riley Reiff<\/a> in his stead.<\/p>\n

Since Week 8 against the Dallas Cowboys, Reiff has manned the right side of the Bears\u2019 line as they have rushed for at least 250 yards twice.<\/p>\n

And, judging from the sounds of head coach Matt Eberflus<\/a>, things will stay status quo.<\/p>\n

\u201cRiley\u2019s done well,\u201d Eberflus told reporters ahead of Wednesday\u2019s practice. \u201cRiley\u2019s done well in there since he\u2019s had that spot. He\u2019s playing with a good demeanor. He\u2019s functioned well, he\u2019s graded out well. So, we\u2019re just going that way at this point.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bears OL Riley Reiff Opens Up About Role Change<\/h2>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s fun being out there playing, Reiff said after the game. \u201cIt\u2019s fun being around these guys. I know how hard they work. Just a great group of dudes that go out there and fight, scratch, claw and it\u2019s fun to be out there with them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reiff has done more than just step in, he\u2019s excelled as the Bears\u2019 offensive line posted three of their top five pass-blocking grades since he\u2019s stepped in, per Pro Football Focus<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In that time, quarterback Justin Fields has completed 64.7% of his passes for 441 yards with seven touchdowns and just one interception which he called a \u201cdumb\u201d throw trying to force it to tight end, Cole Kmet<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Fields has also rushed for 385 yards and an additional four scores in that span.<\/p>\n
