The Chicago Bears’ defensive effort against the Dallas Cowboys can be best summed up in the words of linebacker Roquan Smith<\/a>. He called it \u201cembarrassing. His head coach Matt Eberflus<\/a> took a more academic approach and said the 49-29 loss was \u201cunacceptable\u201d. Both men were right this time.<\/p>\n

“We just got to get better,\u201d Smith said. \u201cWe got to take this one on the chin. Hats off to those guys. But we got to get better. It\u2019s embarrassing on the defensive side.” (h\/t Chris Emma\/670 The Score<\/a>)<\/p>\n

Dallas rolled up 200 rushing yards on the day. The Bears had 240 on the ground themselves. But one Cowboys sprint \u2013 a 54-yarder by Tony Pollard \u2013 \u201csummed up\u201d the Bears\u2019 day.<\/p>\n

And Smith had a front-row seat for it leading to some social media backlash.<\/p>\n

Everyone from EDGE Al-Quadin Muhammad<\/a> to Smith and fellow linebacker Nicholas Morrow<\/a> to safeties Jaquan Brisker<\/a> and Eddie Jackson<\/a>.<\/p>\n
