One of my favorite parts is fantasy football. One of my favorite aspects of fantasy football has become playing on DraftKings. Every week is like a new puzzle to figure out. Whether you are more of a cash game player or a tournament player, each presents a unique challenge. This week 60% of my recommendations hit the 2.5x value we look for in cash game lineups. This time the running back group led the way at an 85.7% success rate. Meanwhile, the wide receiver group brought up the rear tied at a 37.5% success rate. Personally, it was not a profitable week. We\u2019ll look to get it going even better with the picks and get back into the profits in the Week 7 DraftKings plays.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Week 5 \u2013 $241 \u2192 $91 <\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><b>($150 LOSS)<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Year Total \u2013 $1,430 \u2192 $1,732 <\/span><span style=\"color: #00ff00;\"><b>($302 PROFIT)<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Quarterbacks<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>Dak Prescott (DAL) \u2013 $6,700 v DET<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dak Prescott has been out for more than a month now but you really couldn\u2019t have picked a much better matchup to come back to. The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/lions\/\" target=\"_self\">Detroit Lions<\/a> have been one of the worst defenses in the league. Their offense has been competent, though, and that combination has made them one of the best matchups to target. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They have allowed the third-most fantasy points to quarterbacks so far this season. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On top of that this game has the second-highest combined total on the slate at 49 points and the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/cowboys\/\" target=\"_self\">Dallas Cowboys<\/a> have the highest implied team total at 28 points. This game is going to be played in a dome as well. The stars couldn\u2019t have aligned much better for Prescott\u2019s return. His salary is cheaper than it normally would be since he\u2019s been out with an injury. Add it all up and Prescott looks like one of the best Week 7 DraftKings plays.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Derek Carr (LV) \u2013 $5,900 v HOU<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Heading into the year there were expectations that this would be Derek Carr\u2019s best season yet. With Davante Adams joining the team and the AFC West looking like it was going to be filled with shootouts, there was really no reason to think otherwise. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With those expectations, Carr has been a bit disappointing so far. He\u2019s averaging 17.8 points per game and only scored over 20 points once this season. Carr could make that two this week against the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/texans\/\" target=\"_self\">Houston Texans<\/a>. The Texans are weaker against the run than the pass but aren\u2019t a strong defense either way. The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/raiders\/\" target=\"_self\">Las Vegas Raiders<\/a> are seven-point home favorites with an implied team total of 26.25 points. That\u2019s the third-highest implied team total on the slate. This game is also being played in a dome which should only boost the outlook for Carr this week.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Derek Carr early down passing:<\/p>\n<p>11-of-19, 4.0 YPA, -0.36 EPA\/att<\/p>\n<p>Derek Carr 3rd &amp; 4th down passing:<\/p>\n<p>8-of-11, 15.0 YPA, +1.40 EPA\/att, 2 TDs<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Warren Sharp (@SharpFootball) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SharpFootball\/status\/1579678682972852224?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">October 11, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><b><i>Others to Consider: Geno Smith<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (SEA) \u2013 $5,600 @ LAC, <\/span><\/i><b><i>Marcus Mariota<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (ATL) \u2013 $5,500 @ CIN, <\/span><\/i><b><i>Lamar Jackson<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (BAL) \u2013 $8,000 v CLE<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<h3><b>Running Backs<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>Joe Mixon (CIN) \u2013 $7,000 v ATL<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Joe Mixon has been a bit of a mixed bag this year. On one hand, he\u2019s the RB16 and averaging a respectable 14.3 points per game. On the other hand, that\u2019s a disappointment both in terms of his preseason ADP as well as what the usage has been so far. Mixon is still being used as a true workhorse running back which is encouraging for his production this week and moving forward. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This week against the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/falcons\/\" target=\"_self\">Atlanta Falcons<\/a> looks like a great spot for Mixon to get back to some big-time production. The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/bengals\/\" target=\"_self\">Cincinnati Bengals<\/a> have the third-highest implied team total on the slate at 27 points. They are also currently a 6.5-point favorite over the Falcons. Mixon is heavily involved in the passing game too so game script shouldn\u2019t matter too much for him but this could turn into a high-scoring affair which would be ideal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Josh Jacobs (LV) \u2013 $6,500 v HOU<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Josh Jacobs has been one of the best surprises of the year so far at the running back position. After years of being used incorrectly and not being involved in the passing game, that has certainly changed this year. As of now, Jacobs is the RB5 averaging 20.6 DraftKings points per game. He\u2019s on pace for career-highs in both targets and receptions and looks like a true workhorse back. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jacobs is coming off a bye and before that had two straight monster games. He scored over 33 fantasy points in each of those. This week he gets to come back to an extremely juicy matchup. The Texans have allowed the most DraftKings points to running backs. As previously mentioned the Raiders are big-time home favorites with a 26.25-point implied team total. Add it all up and Jacobs looks like not only one of the best point-per-dollar plays but one of the overall best Week 7 DraftKings plays.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Josh Jacobs last 2 games: <\/p>\n<p>154 YDS | 1 TD<br \/>144 YDS | 2 TD<\/p>\n<p>3rd in total rush yards this season with only 5 games played. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/7YiM1IBOO2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pic.twitter.com\/7YiM1IBOO2<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; StatMuse (@statmuse) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/statmuse\/status\/1582783736130637827?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">October 19, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><b><i>Others to Consider: Kenneth Walker III<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (SEA) \u2013 $5,800 @ LAC, <\/span><\/i><b><i>Dameon Pierce<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (HOU) &#8211; $6,400 @ LV, <\/span><\/i><b><i>Leonard Fournette<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (TB) \u2013 $7,700 @ CAR, <\/span><\/i><b><i>Saquon Barkley<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (NYG) \u2013 $7,900 @ JAX, <\/span><\/i><b><i>Austin Ekeler<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (LAC) \u2013 $8,300 v SEA<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<h3><b>Wide Receivers<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>CeeDee Lamb (DAL) \u2013 $6,800 v DET<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CeeDee Lamb has been about as good as fantasy managers could have hoped for this year. There was some concern when Dak Prescott suffered an injury in Week 1 as to whether Lamb could sustain production during his absence. Instead, he\u2019s just gone out and led all wide receivers with an absurd 33.3% target share. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lamb is currently averaging 14.6 DraftKings points per game as well. Prescott is now making his return this week. On top of that is a matchup against the Lions. As previously mentioned, the Lions are simply not a good defensive team in almost any metric. This game environment might be the best on the slate. Everything is pointing toward a monster game for Lamb in this one. This makes him one of the best Week 7 DraftKings plays at any position.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">CeeDee Lamb is going to explode if he maintains his rate stats and the Dallas offense plays as well as projected (28-point implied team total).<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; 33.3% target share (1st)<br \/>&#8211; 39.5% air yardage share (5th)<\/p>\n<p>Facing a Lions defense ranked dead last in pass defense DVOA in Week 7 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/48lQ4ooMt5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/t.co\/48lQ4ooMt5<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Jacob Gibbs (@jagibbs_23) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jagibbs_23\/status\/1582798388994531328?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">October 19, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><b>Drake London (ATL) \u2013 $5,400 @ CIN<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of these days, Arthur Smith is going to have to open up the playbook a bit and let Marcus Mariota throw more than a handful of passes. That day might be this Sunday when the Falcons take on the Bengals. The Falcons are currently 6.5-point underdogs. If they do, in fact, fall behind early they may be forced to throw more than usual. That would be great for Drake London. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">London is actually having a great rookie year. He\u2019s averaging 11.6 DraftKings points per game this year but even more encouraging is his 33.1% target share which is second-best in the NFL among wide receivers trailing only Lamb. The problem has just been the raw volume of pass attempts. Hopefully, the game script plays out in this manner allowing London to truly showcase what he can do when the Falcons throw a normal amount of passes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><i>Others to Consider: Tyler Lockett<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (SEA) \u2013 $5,800 @ LAC, <\/span><\/i><b><i>Amon-Ra St. Brown<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (DET) \u2013\u00a0 $7,100 @ DAL, <\/span><\/i><b><i>Michael Gallup<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (DAL) \u2013 $5,100 v DET, <\/span><\/i><b><i>Amari Cooper<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (CLE) \u2013 $6,100 @ BAL, <\/span><\/i><b><i>D.K. Metcalf<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (SEA) \u2013 $6,600 @ LAC, <\/span><\/i><b><i>Brandin Coooks <\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(HOU) \u2013 $6,000 @ LV<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<h3><b>Tight Ends<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>George Kittle (SF) \u2013 $5,300 v KC<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There\u2019s no other way to put it: George Kittle has been a huge disappointment so far this year. He missed the first two weeks with a groin injury. After that, Kittle put up three straight single-digit fantasy point performances. This past week, though, he finally had a good game. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kittle finished with 16.3 DraftKings points after racking up eight catches for 83 yards on 10 targets. One of the biggest differences in this game compared to the previous three was the game script. Usually, the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/49ers\/\" target=\"_self\">San Francisco 49ers<\/a> are playing with a lead. That wasn\u2019t the case in this one. This week could be another game in which they are forced to throw more than usual. The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/chiefs\/\" target=\"_self\">Kansas City Chiefs<\/a> are 2.5-point road favorites as it currently sits. Combine that with the fact that Kittle could be finally getting fully healthy and he could end up with one of his patented monster performances this week.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">George Kittle&#39;s season highs in Week 6:<\/p>\n<p>-Routes Run: 36<br \/>-Route Participation: 87.8%<br \/>-Targets: 10<br \/>-Receptions: 8<br \/>-Rec Yards: 83<\/p>\n<p>Looks like he&#39;s finally getting healthier and just in time for the Chiefs in which game script should be in his favor this week. Big game incoming \ud83d\udcc8\ud83d\ude80<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; \u2734\ufe0fRob Norton\u2734\ufe0f (@norton0723) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/norton0723\/status\/1583485322754564096?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">October 21, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><b>Greg Dulcich (DEN) \u2013 $2,500 v NYJ<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Greg Dulcich returned from injury this past week and instantly usurped Albert Okwuegbunam and produced. That isn\u2019t a common thing from a rookie tight end. Taking a closer look it was even more encouraging. Dulcich immediately saw a 65.4% snap share and 71.4% route participation in his first game back from injury. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Let\u2019s not forget this was not only his first game back from injury but also his first game overall as a professional. It seems likely that those rates will continue to grow. Obviously, it\u2019s a small sample size but it couldn\u2019t have been a much more encouraging debut. Since he played on Monday Night Football, his price was already put out as the stone minimum. Assuming he at least sustains his role from his debut, this price is far too low. That makes Dulcich one of the best Week 7 DraftKings plays at tight end.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><i>Others to Consider: Kyle Pitts<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (ATL) \u2013 $4,300 @ CIN, <\/span><\/i><b><i>Hayden Hurst<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (CIN) \u2013 $3,500 v ATL, <\/span><\/i><b><i>Evan Engram<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (JAX) \u2013 $3,300 v NYG<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<h3><b>Defense\/Special Teams<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In terms of choosing a defense\/special teams, it\u2019s the last spot I fill in every week. It\u2019s pretty random but there are a few areas to gain an advantage. I aim to target the heavily favored teams, who usually play with a lead. This forces their opponent to throw it more often which can help lead to extra sacks and turnovers and hopefully a touchdown. Another aspect to target is turnover and sack-prone quarterbacks. My advice is to fill out the rest of your lineup first and then pick your favorite D\/ST out of the remaining money.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>My Tentative Cash Game Lineup<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">QB \u2013 Derek Carr<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">RB \u2013 Leonard Fournette<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">RB \u2013 Joe Mixon<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">WR \u2013 CeeDee Lamb<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">WR \u2013 Tyler Lockett<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">WR \u2013 Drake London<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">TE \u2013 Greg Dulcich<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Flex \u2013 Josh Jacobs<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DST \u2013 Atlanta Falcons<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Make sure to tune in next week to see the results from my Week 7 DraftKings plays and to see the best picks for Week 8.
