The first weekend of July is great for neighborhood cookouts and family vacations. However, the New York Giants<\/a> players are enthusiastic about the foundation brought to the franchise by their new general manager Joe Schoen<\/a> and head coach Brian Daboll<\/a>. Usually, reactions of this nature are reserved for the later days of training camp.<\/p>\n

Since 2016, the Giants have registered a new low in franchise history. It has felt like a dysfunctional organization for far too long. The lack of communication between the front office and players made it hard for the team to garner wins. As a result, the Giants earned only 22 wins after claiming a postseason berth with an 11-5 record in Ben McAdoo’s first season as a Giants head coach.<\/p>\n

New Front Office Regime Brings Foundation to New York Giants<\/h2>\n

Daboll Key to Giants Resurgence in 22<\/h3>\n

With the bar being so low, many feel Daboll will be a key factor in the G-Men\u2019s resurgence this upcoming season. He is well-respected throughout the NFL<\/a> as a bright offensive mind. The lack of talent will not be an issue for the Giants. Daboll has a history of placing players in schemes and sets that offers them a chance to make plays.<\/p>\n

Look for Daboll to work his magic by instilling a positive environment around his troubled quarterback Daniel Jones<\/a>. The goal is to give him every opportunity to win games. Hopefully, the knowledge gained by Jones in the summer can be put to good use in the regular season. It is the perfect time for Daboll to see what works and what does not.<\/p>\n

New Coaching Staff Connecting With Players<\/h3>\n

Do not expect Brian Daboll’s Giants to hit the ground running as it will take time to remove the stink of past disappointing seasons. The roster has holes, but a foundation is in place with good, young players who are starving for some success to build up their confidence. Those foundation pieces include Saquon Barkley, Andrew Thomas<\/a>, Azeez Ojulari, and this draft\u2019s top two choices, Kayvon Thibodeaux<\/a> and Evan Neal. All are expected to make an impact on the 2022 season.<\/p>\n

However, you love the energy shown in OTAs and minicamp. Despite the renewed spirit, the Giants coaching staff understands their work is not done. They quickly developed the type of trust<\/a> needed to bring a disjointed roster together. The coaches have offered a different perspective that has sparked a change in the player\u2019s game-planning preparation.<\/p>\n

Entire Giants Organization Must Buy into Brian Daboll’s Philosophy<\/h3>\n

If the Giants are going to turn the corner as a franchise, then there must be a buy-in<\/a> from the entire organization. It does not stop with the players. The training and support staff have to believe in the team\u2019s new philosophy.<\/p>\n

Schoen and Daboll are trying to cultivate an environment where everyone can learn from one another. If the Giants are going to turn this mess around, the entire organization has to be on the same page.<\/p>\n

Training camp will come more quickly than anyone realizes. So, the roster and coaching staff must continue to bond. All indications are that the relationship continues to get stronger with each passing day. Communication is key. If achieved, the Giants will be on the right path to success.<\/p>\n
