The Patriots have a daunting schedule on paper this season, but things can change quickly. Games that look like losses can easily turn into a win and vice versa. Last season, injuries and Covid decimated opponents, and the Patriots capitalized. Any outcome is possible in today&#8217;s NFL. <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2022\/05\/24\/new-england-patriots-most-difficult-games-in-2022\/\" target=\"_self\">[Read the Patriots Most Difficult Games here]<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Easiest Games on the New England Patriots 2022 Schedule<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">10. At Arizona Cardinals, Week 14<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Unfortunately, the Patriots will not get to play the Cardinals in the first six weeks of the season while\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/H\/HopkDe00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">DeAndre Hopkins<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0is suspended. They will not only have to cover him, but also\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/B\/BrowMa04.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Marquise Brown<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">,\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/G\/GreeA.00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">A.J. Green<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, and\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/G\/GreeA.00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Andy Isabella<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">. If they manage to cover everyone well,\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/M\/MurrKy00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Kyler Murray<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> will just take off running, and he can fly. If he does run, the lack of speed at linebacker makes the Patriots vulnerable.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Defensively the Cardinals lost\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/J\/JoneCh03.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Chandler Jones<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0but will get back\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/W\/WattJ.00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">J.J. Watt<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">. He is hard for any team to block, but he will be especially difficult for this new look Patriots offensive line. Watt&#8217;s ability to take over a game, combined with a potent offense at home, is why this will be one of the more difficult games. Yet, it ends up on the easy list because there are so many difficult games.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0<\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">11. At the Minnesota Vikings, Week 12<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Most analysts are overlooking the difficulty of this game. The Vikings offense is explosive, and the Patriots will have a hard time covering\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/J\/JeffJu00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Justin Jefferson<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/T\/ThieAd00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Adam Thielen<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">. If they manage to slow them down, the Vikings can hand it off to one of the best running backs in the league,\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/C\/CookDa01.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Dalvin Cook<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">. The best hope for the Patriots is that Bill Belichick will be able to confuse\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/C\/CousKi00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Kirk Cousins\u00a0<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">and cause turnovers by giving him some different looks defensively.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">12. Miami Dolphins, Week 17<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">A home game against the Dolphins used to look good on the schedule for the Patriots; now, it is a challenge. The Dolphins have only improved, and the Patriots no longer have &#8220;Mr. Interception,&#8221; <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/J\/JackJ.00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">J.C. Jackson<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, or linebacker\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/V\/VanNKy00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Kyle Van Noy<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">This game should have playoff implications for the Dolphins, and they will be highly motivated. The weather is an advantage for the Patriots this time; the nastier, the better. Even if the Dolphins have an excellent young coach, the Patriots will have the coaching advantage, which will be their best chance to contain the Dolphins.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">13. At Pittsburgh Steelers, Week 2<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">No matter who the quarterback is, the Patriots should be able to confuse him often, which should be the most significant factor in this game. The Steelers have several quarterbacks,\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/R\/RudoMa00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Mason Rudolph<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">,\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/T\/TrubMi00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Mitch Trubisky<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, and rookie Kenny Pickett, but they have yet to name a starter.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">With a strong run game, good receivers, and a solid defense, the Steelers will not be a pushover at home, but this should be one of the easier games on the schedule.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">14. Detroit Lions, Week 5\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Fans may overlook the Lions because of their past, but if you look closer, they are improving. Despite being ranked as the fourth easiest game on the Patriots schedule, thE Patriots cannot merely show up and win.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The Lions offense has firepower.\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/G\/GoffJa00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Jared Goff<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0will likely throw to Jameson Williams,\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/H\/HockTJ00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">T.J Hockenson<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">,\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/C\/CharDJ00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">D.J. Chark<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, and\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/S\/StxxAm00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Amon-Ra St. Brown<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">. Also, running backs\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/S\/SwifDA00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">D&#8217;Andre Swift<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/W\/WillJa06.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Jamaal Williams<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0will be a load to bring down. However, Bill Belichick has been great at confusing Goff, and Goff is prone to turnovers. Defensively, the Lions struggle, which is how the Patriots can beat them.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">15. At New York Jets, Week 8<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">This game will be slightly more challenging than the home game against the Jets only because it is on the road, but the Patriots should still be a heavy favorite.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">16. New York Jets, Week 11<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The Jets are improving, and they had a solid offseason, but they still have a long way to go to compete in the division. They upgraded most positions on the roster, but they still have one glaring need: run stoppers. Their run defense may be worse than last year, and they lost their best interior run stopper to free agency. That is music to the ears of the Patriots. They should gash the Jets up the middle all day and then catch them with play-action. This game should be their second easiest in 2022.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">17. Chicago Bears, Week 7<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Chicago is early into rebuilding, and most analysts have written them off. Their young quarterback, <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/F\/FielJu00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Justin Fields<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, is a dual-threat, but he lost his top receiver,\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/R\/RobiAl02.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Allen Robinson<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">. Now, he is throwing to\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/M\/MoonDa00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Darnell Mooney<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">,\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/P\/PrinBy00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Byron Pringle<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">,\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/G\/GoodMa00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Marquise Goodwin<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">,\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/S\/St.BEq00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Equanimeous St. Brown<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">,\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/K\/KmetCo00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Cole Kmet<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, Ryan Griffen, and the ghost of Jimmy Graham. None of these players will intimidate the Patriots, but they are capable of making plays.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Their biggest threat other than Fields taking off is running back\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/M\/MontDa01.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">David Montgomery<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, who can catch passes and break tackles. Defensively they lost Khalil Mack, and they started to rebuild through the draft. So, the Patriots should be able to score points and contain their offense.
