He was granted permission to seek a trade, and it quickly came down to either the Dolphins or the New York Jets – and Hill chose the Dolphins.

This was perhaps an eventual inevitability for the Chiefs that they would not be able to pay all their star players due in part to Patrick Mahomes’ massive contract, but such a thing was not necessarily expected to happen this soon. For their part, they lose one of the stars that was critical to their offense, but they will gain plenty of draft picks from this.

For the Dolphins part, they gain an elite weapon for Tua Tagovailoa to throw to, though it seems less likely that they will push the ball downfield as much as that has not really been something Tagovailoa has done much of successfully. Still, it gives the third-year quarterback another weapon – which he will have plenty of – in what could be a make-or-break year for him.

Hill was drafted by the Chiefs in 2016 and quickly became a fearsome threat due to his ridiculous speed. He had a career year in 2018 with 1,479 yards (still a career-high) and 12 touchdowns. In 2021 he finished with 111 receptions (a career-high) for 1,239 yards and nine touchdowns. He has made the Pro Bowl every year of his career and has gone All-Pro three times.

Thus far in his career, Hill has 479 receptions for 6,630 yards and 56 touchdowns, along with 719 rushing yards and six touchdowns, and five kick/punt return touchdowns.

Main Photo:
Embed from Getty Images

The Kansas City Chiefs have traded star receiver Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins in return for a bevy of draft picks.

[36
246,4443,297
post-132139","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-nfl-news","tag-nfl-news","tag-tua-tagovailoa","tag-tyreek-hill
["GET
