That would be the one word used most frequently to describe Lindstrom. A three-year starter on a very good Boston College offensive line. Lindstrom is one of just five players in Eagles history to be a two-time First-Team All-ACC selection. Comes from a long lineage and football family. Lindstrom’s father was a Hall of Fame lineman at Boston University and spent time in the NFL. His older brother Chris was a four-year starter at Boston College and first-round pick of the Atlanta Falcons in 2019. Lindstrom excels on combination blocks and plays with tremendous technique despite his somewhat limited functional strength and measurables.

Strengths

Excellent communicator

Intelligent: Very good at identifying fronts and making calls

Toughness

Does a great job of finishing

Plays with solid pad level

Solid run blocker

Stays connected while on the move

Weaknesses

Needs to add more weight to his frame

Struggles at times in pass protection

Has trouble with athletic rushers

Plays very upright despite being 6’3″

Might have issues with playing an outside zone scheme

NFL comparison: Trey Hopkins

Teams With Need At Position: Houston Texans, Cincinnati Bengals, Carolina Panthers, Chicago Bears

Projection: 5th-6th round

Bottom Line on Alec Lindstrom

The positives for Lindstrom along with his football pedigree will put him on the fast track with an NFL organization. Plays with very good intangibles for an offensive lineman that will get him through at times in the league. Lindstrom is also versatile which will add to his value to possibly play guard at the next level. Will be best served to go to a team where he can further develop while also gaining functional strength for the rigors of the NFL season.

Currently, we have Lindstrom slated to be a day three pick. Despite this notion, some team is going to get a very good player that has the potential to be a starter, sooner rather than later. Lindstrom knows what it takes to succeed in the NFL based on his family tree and it seems he will do whatever it takes to have a successful career.

*Stats and research provided courtesy of The Draft Network (TDN), and NFL.com

Main Photo:
Embed from Getty Images

Alec Lindstrom had a solid career at center for Boston College.
