During training camp, he competed with Bennett Jackson and Stanley Jean-Baptiste. Head coach John Harbaugh named Williams the seventh cornerback on the roster to start the 2018 season. A month after making his NFL debut a few weeks earlier, the Ravens waived Williams since Jimmy Smith returned from his four-game suspension.

Two days later, the Los Angeles Rams picked him off waivers. He came in as the sixth cornerback on the roster behind Marcus Peters, Sam Shields, Troy Hill, Nickell Robey-Coleman, and Dominique Hatfield. For the remainder of the 2018 campaign, he remained on the roster, only playing in one game. In that same season, the Rams lost to the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LIII by a score of 13-3.

In 2019, he saw an uptick in defensive snaps under new defensive coordinator Brandon Staley. Williams played in 12 games, starting three. He accumulated 15 tackles, one tackle for a loss, four pass deflections, one fumble recovery, and two interceptions. He allowed 15 receptions on 24 targets for a completion percentage of 71.5, one touchdown, 197 yards, and a passer rating of 77.

In 2020, head coach Sean McVay named Williams the second cornerback, opposite Jalen Ramsey. Williams accumulated career-highs in interceptions with four and pass deflections with 14, while also recording 44 tackles, one tackle for a loss. He played in 16 games, starting ten. In coverage, Williams allowed 39 receptions on 72 targets, a completion percentage of 54.2, 528 yards, two touchdowns, and a 63.9 passer rating.

The Rams placed a first-round tender on Williams during the 2021 free agency period. A few weeks later, he signed a one-year deal to stay with the Rams. Williams missed three games in the 2021 campaign due to an ankle injury. He played in a total of 14 games, starting 13 while collecting one forced fumble. In coverage, Williams allowed 57 receptions on 92 targets, a completion percentage of 62, 610 yards, four touchdowns, and a 95.7 passer rating. Williams helped the Rams beat the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI by a score of 23-20.

Main photo:
Embed from Getty Images

Four-year NFL veteran cornerback Darious Williams has signed a new contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
