Turning 36 in September, Campbell is on the back-nine of his career. However, his time with the Ravens proved he is still more than serviceable. Despite some injury concerns, the leviathan defensive tackle was a constant presence for Baltimore in 2021 and 2020, starting 26 of a possible 27 games. However, his 2021 season was the first since 2016 in which he did not receive a Pro Bowl nod.

A three-year residency with the Jacksonville Jaguars preceded his stint in Baltimore. During that time, Campbell received a slew of honors, including three consecutive Pro Bowl selections, a first-team All Pro selection, and finished second in voting for the 2017 Defensive Player of the Year. That year, Campbell was the anchor of a Jaguars defense that propelled the team to the cusp of the Super Bowl, losing against the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game.

Signed by Jacksonville as a marquee free agent in 2017, Campbell spent his first nine years in the league with Arizona Cardinals. Drafted in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft, Campbell played both interior defensive end and tackle in Arizona. Quickly becoming a fan favorite, his ability and leadership qualities were well-valued; he wore a captain’s patch for several years. His versatility on the interior saw him used as a vital piece across several defensive coordinators in the desert. His performances in Arizona and Jacksonville earned Campbell a spot on the NFL’s 2010s All-Decade team.

Main photo:
Embed from Getty Images

14-year NFL veteran Calais Campbell spent the past two years with the Ravens after previously playing for the Jaguars and Cardinals.

[36,10
8848,1377
post-130763","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-nfl-news","category-ravens","tag-2022-nfl-free-agency","tag-calais-campbell
["GET
