In this capacity, he set career-highs in virtually all categories. He finished with 40 combined tackles (24 solo and eight for a loss), five sacks, two forced fumbles and one recovery, 17 quarterback hits, four pass deflections, and one interception (his first career one at that). Nwosu will look to keep his upward momentum going in future seasons.

Nwosu played football in high school at Narbonne High in Harbor City, California. He then played in college for USC from 2014 to 2017. His senior year saw him finish First-Team All-Pac-12 and get named co-MVP for USC alongside Sam Darnold. Nwosu was then drafted by the Chargers in the second round in 2018. For the next three seasons, he would play a primarily rotational role as an edge rusher or linebacker.

The early highlight of Nwosu’s career came in his rookie season in the Wildcard round of the playoffs against the Baltimore Ravens, when he forced a Lamar Jackson fumble that the Chargers recovered on what could have been a game-winning drive for the Ravens, and thus sealed the game.

Prior to his 2021 season, his best season before that would have been the one before in 2020 when he finished with 33 tackles and 4.5 sacks, which were career-highs at the time for him. He started four games out of 13 that year, which was also the most he had gotten up to that point.

Thus far in his career, Uchenna Nwosu has 132 combined tackles (85 solo), 15 sacks, three forced fumbles and one recovery, eight pass deflections, and one interception.

Main Photo:
Embed from Getty Images

Uchenna Nwosu is coming off a season which saw him get in on 40 tackles and rack up five sacks in his first year as a full-time starter.

[36
7377,246,6826
post-130635","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-nfl-news","tag-los-angeles-chargers-roster","tag-nfl-news","tag-uchenna-nwosu
["GET
