It’s astonishing that so many people seem to be so against playing quarterbacks that can run. Taysom Hill is one of those quarterbacks. Just last week he scored 27.66 fantasy points. Half of that production came from his legs. He rushed for 101 yards on 11 carries. Any time a quarterback has the ability to do that, he doesn’t need to be a great passer to succeed in fantasy. That seems to be where people can’t separate fantasy football from real-life football. This week, Hill gets a juicy matchup against the New York Jets. The Jets defense has been horrible and has been one of the most inefficient pass defenses in the NFL this year. In terms of fantasy points allowed, they’ve allowed the 11th-most so far. They’ve also been horrible against the run too so Hill should be a good bet for another strong performance on the ground. There is some concern about his finger injury so that’s something to monitor. Assuming he is able to play the entire game, there’s no reason to believe that Hill can’t provide another 20+ fantasy point game in this one.

TAYSOM HILL 😱

(via @NFL)pic.twitter.com/I0kGksCAnq

— Bleacher Report (@BleacherReport) December 3, 2021

Honorable Mentions – Teddy Bridgewater (DEN – 23%) v DET, Taylor Heinicke (WFT – 38%) v DAL

Running Back – Rashaad Penny (SEA – 6%) @ HOU

It’s a bit thin this week at running back, especially compared to last week, so Rashaad Penny it is. There is a little to be excited about at least. Penny is a former first-round pick so he has some upside and potential. The Seattle Seahawks are running thin at the running back position as well with Chris Carson out for the year and Alex Collins banged up. They’ve gotten so desperate that they signed the corpse of Adrian Peterson after he failed to beat out D’Onta Foreman and Dontrell Hilliard for playing time with the Tennessee Titans. This past week Penny saw 10 carries and one target and turned that into 62 total yards. It’s nothing spectacular but Collins wasn’t doing much of anything while healthy so it would seem to make sense to give Penny a shot at an expanded role. This week’s matchup against the Houston Texans would be a great spot to see extra work. The Texans have allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to running backs so far this year. The Seahawks are also 7.5-point road favorites in this one so the game script should be in his favor as well.

Honorable Mentions – Dontrell Hilliard (TEN – 42%) v JAX, JaMycal Hasty (SF – 1%) @ CIN

Wide Receiver – Russell Gage (ATL – 35%) @ CAR

Early on this season Russell Gage looked completely cooked. At this point, it looks like he was dealing with an injury and that’s what was to blame. Lately, Gage has been on a bit of a hot streak. He’s scored at least 13.4 fantasy points in four of his last six games played. He does have a goose egg sandwiched in there too. Gage has also seen at least six targets in five of his last six games. He and Kyle Pitts are clearly the main two weapons in the Atlanta Falcons passing game at this point. This matchup against the Carolina Panthers isn’t anything special but it’s not a matchup to fear either. Carolina has been tough on wide receivers so far but Gage has seen too much volume and been doing too well to ignore at this point.

Russell Gage has had a target share over 25% in four of his last five games, including 29% in Week 13

— Alex Johnson (@a_johnsonFF) December 8, 2021

Honorable Mention – Nick Westbrook-Ikhine (TEN – 14%) v JAX

Tight End – Tyler Conklin (MIN – 30%) v PIT

Tyler Conklin has become a regular in this section whether he’s been featured or as an honorable mention. This marks his seventh week here. Part of it is that he’s been just good enough to consider every week but not good enough to graduate to “must-start” status. Conklin had been going through a bit of a dry spell until last week. After back-to-back weeks with three targets, he saw that jump to nine targets last week. Part of that was due to the game script but a bigger part was Adam Thielen’s injury. Thielen went down with an ankle injury and did not return. This week it’s very likely that he’ll sit out since this game is on Thursday night. Assuming Thielen sits, Conklin should likely see a boost in target share in this one. The matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers isn’t one to specifically target, but the Minnesota Vikings are projected to be playing a close game and in a dome which should all help Conklin’s chances to succeed.

Honorable Mentions – Ricky Seals-Jones (WFT – 5%) v DAL, Jared Cook (LAC – 45%) v NYG

[pickup_prop id=”16547″]

Main Photo:
Embed from Getty Images

Fantasy Football Week 14 Stream Team: Each week this column will analyze a player at each position rostered in 50% of Yahoo leagues or less.

[59
349,3515,5881,2399,3840
post-125782","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-fantasy","tag-fantasy-football-rankings","tag-rashaad-penny","tag-russell-gage","tag-taysom-hill","tag-tyler-conklin
["GET
