According to the latest NFL rumors, Lamar Jackson acknowledged his subpar game and thanked his teammates for carrying him during his poor performance. In other news, Baker Mayfield will remain Cleveland\u2019s starting quarterback, while Ezekiel Elliott plans to play through his current injury.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[pickup_prop id=&#8221;16250&#8243;]<\/p>\n<h2><strong>NFL Rumors: Lamar Jackson, Baker Mayfield, Ezekiel Elliott<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h4><strong>Lamar Jackson: \u201cWay To Have My Back\u201d<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lamar Jackson was one of the MVP frontrunners heading into Week 12, but his performance on Sunday Night Football didn\u2019t do anything to help his case. The quarterback completed 20 of his 32 passing attempts for 165 yards, one touchdown, and four interceptions, but his team still managed to come away with a 16-10 victory.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Grant Delpit\u2019s 1st <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/NFL?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">#NFL<\/a> INT comes against Lamar Jackson \ud83d\udd12<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LSUfootball?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">@LSUfootball<\/a> <\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/NYNtmDoka6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pic.twitter.com\/NYNtmDoka6<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; PFF College (@PFF_College) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PFF_College\/status\/1465152482733174791?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">November 29, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Speaking to reporters after the game, Jackson was clearly unsatisfied with his level of play but gave his teammates all the credit in the world for earning the win.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.baltimoreravens.com\/video\/lamar-jackson-i-m-ticked-off-after-interceptions\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I\u2019m ticked off<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, but I told all of those guys, \u2018Man, way to have my back&#8230;you played lights out&#8230;I just told my team, \u2018That\u2019s me. I owe y\u2019all.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jackson chose a good time to have a bad day. Despite the subpar play, the Ravens still managed to pull off the victory and are currently in the driver\u2019s seat for the top seed in the AFC. At 8-3, the Ravens have a half-game lead over the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/patriots\/\" target=\"_self\">New England Patriots<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/titans\" target=\"_self\">Tennessee Titans<\/a>. The Patriots still have two matchups against the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/bills\" target=\"_self\">Buffalo Bills<\/a>, while the Titans are one of the most banged-up teams in all of football. While it\u2019s far from a sure thing, the Ravens are currently the favorites to earn the AFC\u2019s lone bye week.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><strong>Baker Mayfield Will Remain Cleveland Browns Starting Quarterback<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2021 has not been nice to Baker Mayfield. After a strong finish to the 2020 campaign, the former first-overall pick has struggled to recapture that magic while battling through a wide series of injuries. He has been one of the least efficient passers in the league, but his head coach is not pondering a change at the quarterback position.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When asked specifically about benching Mayfield, head coach Kevin Stefanski definitively said that \u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=eaiFQrQiP5g\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We\u2019re not doing that<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While Mayfield hasn\u2019t played all that well throughout the season, it\u2019s easy to see that he is not solely responsible for the struggles on this offense. The quarterback himself is clearly not anywhere close to 100% healthy, the weapons are subpar, and right tackle Jack Conklin suffered a serious injury early in Week 12\u2019s contest. A few days back, reports surfaced indicating that the Cowboys could give the former first-round pick a week off to ensure a clean bill of health the rest of the way. However, according to Elliott himself, he believed that the week of rest is unnecessary.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallascowboys.com\/news\/zeke-looks-to-manage-knee-injury-over-resting\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No one has come to me<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and asked me to rest. If they bring it up to me, I\u2019ve just got to go with what they think is best for the team, and leave it at that&#8230;I\u2019ve been dealing with [the injury] for almost two months now. It has gotten a little better, but it does get stiff,\u201d Elliott said while speaking to reporters.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Clearly, Elliott believes that he can play through this injury, but he also acknowledged that backup running back Tony Pollard is capable of handling a full workload. During the same interview, Elliott said that \u201c&#8230;I think Tony is a very good back. I don\u2019t think there\u2019s any drop off when I\u2019m not on the field. He\u2019s been doing a hell of a job just stepping up.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Regardless of who actually plays on Thursday, the Cowboys should be favorites against the New Orleans Saints.
