With November 2nd just over the horizon, the time for deals to be made is far from over. Las Vegas has made some recent errors in the draft, with Clelin Ferrell being the most notable. It would be best for them to admit these mistakes now and cut bait with any misevaluated prospects. There are plenty of teams willing to trade late-round draft picks for another team’s formerly coveted prospect. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. Let us take a look at some of these players Las Vegas would do best to trade out the door.

Clelin Ferrell Highlights Raiders Trade Deadline Sell List

A Draft Bust

Just a few days ago, Albert Breer put out a report about Las Vegas receiving trade interest for Clelin Ferrell. He was Mike Mayock’s first draft pick as the team’s general manager. For whatever reason, it just has not worked out for Ferrell in Las Vegas. He has been outshined by fellow draftmate Maxx Crosby since the moment they both stepped foot on the field. Ferrell is now buried on the depth chart behind the likes of Carl Nassib and occasionally Malcolm Koonce. It has definitely been a fall from grace for the former fourth overall pick of the 2019 NFL Draft. There is a zero percent chance of Las Vegas picking up his fifth-year option. Las Vegas should just take whatever they can get for him at this point. There is no future for Ferrell in the silver and black.

Damon Arnette An Afterthought

Though it is still early, things are not looking great for Damon Arnette in Las Vegas. He has yet to stay healthy on a consistent basis since being selected in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Even when healthy, Arnette’s play on the field has left too much to be desired for a first-round pick. For whatever reason, Mike Mayock struggled with his first-round draft selections in the infancy of his regime. Rumor is that Jon Gruden was the individual with the final say on personnel, so Mayock may get a pass for these past draft blunders. Regardless of the circumstances, time may already be out on Arnette’s future in Las Vegas. If another team comes to the table with an offer of a late-round draft pick or two, how could Mayock say no?

Conclusion

“First-round draft mistakes” is clearly the theme of this list. Successful organizations are always the ones that are quick to admit when they have made a mistake. Ferrell and Arnette were clearly both mistakes for Las Vegas. This does not mean that they have no future in the NFL. It just has not worked out in Las Vegas for whatever reason. Too often in the past has a change of scenery done wonders for a player. Both Ferrell and Arnette still have the potential to create a solid career for themselves in this league. Sadly, it will likely not be while wearing silver and black.

Main photo:
Embed from Getty Images

With the trade deadline just around the corner, now may be the perfect time for the Las Vegas Raiders to cut their losses Clelin Ferrell.

[54,17
4771,6441,7730,7747
post-124056","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-editorials","category-raiders","tag-clelin-ferrell","tag-damon-arnette","tag-las-vegas-raiders-roster","tag-raiders-featured
["GET
