Most analysts consider Jones a poor quarterback. In fantasy, however, he does things that are intriguing. It’s this divide that has had so many fantasy managers, myself included, intrigued with his upside as a late-round quarterback. Jones has a nice combination of weapons combined with a defense that allows teams to score. He’s in a division that tends to have some shootouts too. Perhaps his best trait is that he’s a sneaky runner too. As a rookie, he rushed for 279 yards in 12 starts, and last year he rushed for 423 yards in 14 starts. He’s already up to 122 yards and two scores after two games thanks to a 9/95/1 line on the ground on Thursday Night Football. This week he gets the Atlanta Falcons. Atlanta allowed a great game to Jalen Hurts in Week 1 and then got decimated by Tom Brady in Week 2. This should be a nice spot for Jones to continue his nice start to 2021.

Since the start of 2019, these are the only players to produce 240+ Pass & 90+ Rush yards in a game:

– Kyler Murray
– Lamar Jackson
– DANIEL JONES pic.twitter.com/VdQfv2FfjO

— NFL on CBS 🏈 (@NFLonCBS) September 17, 2021

Honorable Mentions – Teddy Bridgewater (DEN – 17%) v NYJ, Derek Carr (LV – 27%) v MIA

Running Back – Cordarrelle Patterson (ATL – 14%) @ NYG

This pick would make the president of the C-Pat fan club, Ian Hartitz, proud. He’s ironically and unironically banged the table for Cordarrelle Patterson to get more touches in each offense he’s been in for years now. Patterson is a journeyman wide receiver turned kick returner turned hybrid offensive weapon. Patterson is a former first-round pick back in 2013 as a wide receiver. He’s long been an efficient offensive player even though he never truly lived up to the draft capital. He’s been underutilized in the past but it seems as though he’s going to have a regular role for the Falcons this season. It might simply be a small sample size but so far he’s seen seven carries in each game along with seven receptions on eight targets. Patterson has turned his 21 total touches into 136 total yards and two scores to this point. This week he gets to face a New York Giants defense that has allowed nice games to Melvin Gordon and J.D. McKissic so far. A nice bonus is that Patterson has versatility on some sites to be used as either a running back or wide receiver so he makes for a nice streamer for those in need of either position.

Honorable Mentions – James White (NE – 42%) v NO, J.D. Moore was extremely productive at an early age in college evidenced by his 99th percentile breakout age. He is also extremely fast and explosive evidenced by his 96th percentile 40-yard dash and burst scores. The problem that many analysts had with him was that he’s only 5’7” tall. Luckily for fantasy managers who believed in Moore, it seems like talent combined with a great offensive scheme seems to be winning out currently. Despite only seeing 29% of snaps in Week 1, Moore still caught four balls for 68 yards on five targets. In Week 2 the snap share increased to 46% and the production followed suit. Moore racked up seven catches for 114 yards and a score on eight targets. It’s clear that Kliff Kingsbury wants to get the ball in his hands and let him make plays. Moore is not only a great streamer but a great long-term add as he’s seeing manufactured touches in one of the best offenses in the NFL and his snap share should only continue to increase. This week’s matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars is a juicy one. The Jaguars are one of the worst teams in the NFL right now.

Most receiving yards all-time through a 21 year old WRs first two career games:

T1. This week he gets a nice matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. Kansas City is a solid defense but it’s the game environment that is the more intriguing aspect.
