The Eagles are the only team in the league to have their opponents\u2019 average win percentage below 45 percent, coming in at a whopping 43 percent. That being said, second-year quarterback <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/H\/HurtJa00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jalen Hurts<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and new Head Coach Nick Sirianni have yet to prove themselves to a very tough fanbase. The Eagles will have their work cut out for them in an always-competitive NFC East, despite the easy schedule.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Philadelphia Eagles Schedule Breakdown<\/b><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Week 6 &#8211; vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/B\/BradTo00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tom Brady<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and the defending Super Bowl Champion <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/buccaneers\/\" target=\"_self\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tampa Bay Buccaneers<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are likely the toughest opponent any team will face all season; and for the Eagles that is no different. While the Eagles have the luxury of facing the Bucs at Lincoln Financial Field, Eagles fans can be even more brutal than the fans of their opponents in the face of on-field struggles. This is specifically a tough matchup for Hurts, who will likely be asked to face off against a defense that managed to shut down former MVP <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/M\/MahoPa00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Patrick Mahomes<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on football\u2019s biggest stage.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2. Week 4 &#8211; vs. Kansas City Chiefs<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Speaking of Mahomes, the Eagles second-toughest matchup will be another league finalist in the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/chiefs\/\" target=\"_self\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kansas City Chiefs<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Once again the Eagles will take on a tough opponent at home, but this time it\u2019ll be against the league\u2019s most potent passing offense. The Eagles secondary has struggled over the past few seasons, and Mahomes is known for taking full advantage of any weakness he sees in the defense of his opponents. The Eagles will have to hope the additions of free agent safety <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/H\/HarrAn01.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anthony Harris<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and 2021 fourth-round cornerback <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/texastech.com\/sports\/football\/roster\/zech-mcphearson\/9753\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Zech McPhearson<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are enough to help contain the Chiefs offense.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3. Week 2 &#8211; vs. San Francisco 49ers<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The dominance of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/49ers\/\" target=\"_self\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">San Francisco 49ers<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> relies heavily on the play of rookie quarterback <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cfb\/players\/trey-lance-1.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Trey Lance.<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> If Lance plays well, this game could get ugly for the Eagles. The secondary of the Eagles will face another tough skill group, led by superstar tight end <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/K\/KittGe00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">George Kittle<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The 49ers, by far the NFL\u2019s most injured team during the 2020 season, are one the league\u2019s most complete squads when healthy. The Eagles will have their hands full on both ends.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">4. Week 11 &#8211; vs. New Orleans Saints<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Eagles are lucky enough that their four toughest matchups of the year all take place at home. The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/tag\/new-orleans-saints-news\/\" target=\"_self\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">New Orleans Saints<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> suffered the third loss of their 2020 season against the Eagles in mid-December. In that game, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/H\/HillTa00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Taysom Hill<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> started his final game of 2020 at quarterback for New Orleans. Unless <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/W\/WinsJa00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jameis Winston<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> ends up hurt, it seems unlikely the Eagles will have the luxury of Hill starting at quarterback again. They will instead have to deal with the prolific passing of Winston at quarterback, while attempting to contain Hill in several different positions. Forcing turnovers will be a key for Philadelphia in this game.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">5. Week 17 &#8211; at Washington Football Team<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/Y\/YounCh04.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chase Young<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/washington-football-team\/\" target=\"_self\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Washington Football Team<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will pose the biggest road threat to the Eagles in the 2021 NFL season. Washington has yet to find their franchise quarterback, but <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/F\/FitzRy00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ryan Fitzpatrick<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is no slouch. This game will likely have big implications in the NFC East playoff picture and could be the difference between one or both of these teams making the playoffs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">6. Week 3 &#8211; at Dallas Cowboys\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This Monday night game will be the first time the Eagles face off against a division opponent in their first primetime game of the season. The<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/cowboys\/\" target=\"_self\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Dallas Cowboys<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> had a historically-bad defense at times and only five games of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/P\/PresDa01.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dak Prescott<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in 2020. With Prescott slated to be good to go by training camp, and the defensive additions of first-round linebacker <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cfb\/players\/micah-parsons-1.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Micah Parsons<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and free agent safety <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/N\/NealKe01.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Keanu Neal<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the Cowboys should be a much better team in 2021. The teams blew each other out at home in 2020, but expect this outing to be a much closer matchup than the 37-17 beating the Cowboys dolled out at home in Week 16.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">7. Week 15 &#8211; vs. Washington Football Team<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Both matchups against Washington fall in the top seven toughest matchups for Eagles. The Football Team added two solid wide receiver options behind budding star <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/M\/McLaTe00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Terry McLaurin <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/S\/SamuCu00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Curtis Samuel <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/H\/HumpAd00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Adam Humphries<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the off-season. The Football Team took both games in 2020 and have a good shot at doing so again, if Fitzpatrick plays well.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">8. Week 7 &#8211; at Las Vegas Raiders\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Eagles will take on the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/raiders\/\" target=\"_self\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Las Vegas Raiders<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in their first ever visit to Allegiant Stadium in their quadrennial matchup against the AFC West member. The Raiders once again made a questionable choice by reaching for Alabama offensive lineman <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cfb\/players\/alex-leatherwood-1.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alex Leatherwood<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the draft, but still had an outstanding three days in Cleveland. Quarterback <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/C\/CarrDe02.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Derek Carr<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is also coming off his best season under head coach Jon Gruden, as the Raiders were .500 or better for the first time under Gruden and the first time since 2016.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">9. Week 10 &#8211; at Denver Broncos\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Obviously this matchup skyrockets into the top three if <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/R\/RodgAa00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aaron Rodgers<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is traded to Denver, but as it currently stands the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/broncos\/\" target=\"_self\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Denver Broncos<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are a likely mediocre football team at best. Most of this mediocrity comes from the uncertainty at the quarterback position for the Broncos. Denver&#8217;s decision to pass on a quarterback and choose cornerback<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cfb\/players\/patrick-surtain-ii-1.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Patrick Surtain II<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at no. 9 in the draft could prove brutal in the future, yet it will likely make the Broncos secondary one of the best in the NFL in 2021. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cfb\/players\/devonta-smith-1.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Devonta Smith<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> versus Surtain will be a fun matchup to watch in this game. Smith was taken just one spot after Surtain in April\u2019s draft and the two were teammates at Alabama. Mile High is a remarkably tough place to play at, especially when you typically only do it once every eight years.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">10. Week 18 &#8211; vs. Dallas Cowboys\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is yet another late-season matchup that could have big division and playoff implications. While the Washington Football Team is probably the favorite to win the NFC East, both the Eagles and Cowboys will not make the race for the title easy. Hurts and former college teammate Smith will look to overcome a lot of the off-season chatter that surrounded both of them individually.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">11. Week 9 &#8211; vs. Los Angeles Chargers\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/chargers\/\" target=\"_self\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Los Angeles Chargers <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are not an easy team to beat, but they are notorious for blowing games late. The Chargers hope the firing of Anthony Lynn will change that, though they also hoped hiring him a few years ago would accomplish the same goal. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/H\/HerbJu00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Justin Herbert<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will look to build on an outstanding rookie season, and the team aspires to get another full season out of talented young safety<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/J\/JameDe00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Derwin James<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Expect a good battle at Lincoln Financial.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">12. Week 12 &#8211; at New York Giants\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Despite running back <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/B\/BarkSa00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Saquon Barkley<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> returning from injury, wide receiver <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/G\/GollKe00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kenny Golladay<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> signing in free agency and wide receiver <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cfb\/players\/kadarius-toney-1.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kadarius Toney<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> being drafted in the first round, the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/giants\/\" target=\"_self\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">New York Giants<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> still have <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/J\/JoneDa05.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Daniel Jones<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at quarterback. The Giants still have a shot at winning an unpredictable NFC East, but Jones would have to make an incredible leap for it to happen in an extremely-competitive division. While quarterback play is far from the division&#8217;s strong suit, Jones takes the cake as the division&#8217;s weakest signal caller. The Eagles can realistically shut down the Giants offense if Barkley is contained.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">13. Week 1 &#8211; at Atlanta Falcons\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/J\/JoneJu02.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Julio Jones<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is on the roster come September, the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/falcons\/\" target=\"_self\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Atlanta Falcons<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> might have the best skill group the Eagles will face all season. The addition of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cfb\/players\/kyle-pitts-1.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kyle Pitts<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> bought <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/R\/RyanMa00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Matt Ryan<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at least one more year at the helm of the Falcons offense, as they passed on a couple quarterbacks to take Pitts at no. 4 overall. New head coach Arthur Smith will be tasked with leading a team that has only made the playoffs once since their Super Bowl appearance in 2017. Despite their offensive potential, the Falcons already had one of the worst defenses in the NFL, and the loss of Keanu Neal to the Cowboys will make this an even more attractive matchup for Hurts and the Eagles.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">14. Week 5 &#8211; at Carolina Panthers<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Young talent aside, the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/category\/nfl-teams\/panthers\/\" target=\"_self\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Carolina Panthers<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> have a lot of holes throughout their roster that are still unfilled. While this will be<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/D\/DarnSa00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Sam Darnold\u2019s<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> best offensive group by far, the Panthers have few names that stand out defensively outside of first-round corner <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cfb\/players\/jaycee-horn-1.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jaycee Horn<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/M\/McCaCh01.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Christian McCaffery<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> gives every team he plays trouble, but the Eagles might especially struggle with the versatile running back. The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/years\/2020\/opp.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Eagles defense <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">gave up the 10th-most rushing yards and eighth-most rushing touchdowns in 2020. If Darnold finally breaks out in Carolina, this could be a much more difficult matchup come game day than on paper.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">15. Week 16 &#8211; vs. New York Giants\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Eagles have a good shot at sweeping the Giants in 2021 after splitting their meetings in 2020. For the Eagles, establishing the run could be key against a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/years\/2020\/opp.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Giants defense<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that ranked top 10 in rushing yards allowed, rushing yards per attempt and rushing touchdowns allowed.
