Chandon Herring 2021 NFL Draft Profile<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Blocking at right guard for the prolific 2020 BYU offense, Chandon Herring enters the draft looking to assist another vertical offense. While he might not be the most carved-out prospect, his size and pedigree increase his positional stock. A two-star recruit out of Perry High School in Gilbert, AZ, Herring improved each season with the Cougars. His stock only rose when his teammate, Zach Wilson, posted among the most prolific passing seasons in recent college history. Playing for a BYU team that nearly pulled off an undefeated season, Herring certainly showed the ability to play football with a purpose. His team won a lot of games during the 2020 season and did a good job to keep Wilson\u2019s pocket clean. After all, the ability to keep a big-time quarterback protected certainly doesn\u2019t go unnoticed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Still, the redshirt-senior isn\u2019t without his downsides. Herring doesn\u2019t pack much of a punch as a blocker and has some notable technical flaws. Further, he\u2019s one of the oldest players in this year\u2019s draft, as he delayed the start of his college career by two years. Regardless, he\u2019s got a big frame and showed plentiful resilience on the BYU offensive line. Herring is likely to be a late-round pick, but he\u2019s got some interesting upside. After a good performance at his pro day this spring, he could also find himself rising on the boards of teams around the league.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
