He attended and played at Notre Dame High School where he completed 214 tackles, 28 tackles for loss, seven sacks, nine forced fumbles, and five fumble recoveries. As a senior, Ogbongebmiga was named First-Team All-District and his team&#8217;s MVP. He also was a three-time honor roll selection who also competed in track and field. 247Sports.com rated him as a three-star prospect, and he was recruited to Oklahoma State University by cousin <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/O\/OgbaEm00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Emmanuel Ogbah<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In his first year, Ogbongbemiga was redshirted. The following season, he completed 11 solo and five tackles. He had his season-best five tackles in one game against Pittsburgh. Ogbongbemiga received First-Team Academic All-Big 12 honors During his sophomore season, Ogbongbemiga completed seven solo and five assisted tackles with one and a half sacks. He received First-Team Academic All-Big 12 honors for the second consecutive year and received the OSU Outstanding Special Teams Player Award.<\/p>\n<p>In his junior season, Ogbongbemiga completed 63 solo and 37 assisted tackles with five sacks, one forced fumble, and one interception of four yards. He also had one punt return of 10 yards. The coaches nominated him to the Second-Team All-Big 12 and he was nominated as team captain by his teammates. He was selected to the First-Team Academic All-Big 12 for the third year in a row as well as being a recipient of the OSU Leslie O&#8217;Neal Award for being the MVP of the defense. Ogbongbemiga led his team with five sacks and was ranked #13 in the Big 12. Additionally, he led his team with 15.5 tackles for loss and was ranked fifth in the Big 12.\u00a0 He ranked second on the team in tackles with 100 while ranking sixth in the Big 12. Due to his speed, range, and coverage, Ogbongbemiga fits best in a four-two-five defense scheme where he is able to attack quickly instead of having to read the play.
