Free agency is just under a week away, as the franchise tag deadline is long gone and the legal tampering period begins on Monday. Just about every team in the league could use another good wide receiver, and the free agent market is the best place to find an immediate infusion of talent.<\/p>\n
Both Chris Godwin<\/a> and Allen Robinson received the franchise tag<\/a>, leaving Kenny Golladay as the best receiver on the open market. The free agent is destined to break the bank and should have plenty of suitors, but the New York Giants make the most sense<\/a>. New York desperately needs to find out if Daniel Jones can be the answer under center, so the organization will do everything possible to bolster his supporting cast. If Jones cannot make it work with Golladay, Sterling Shepard, and Darius Slayton, then it\u2019s time for the Giants to look somewhere else.<\/p>\n [pickup_prop id=”5025″]<\/p>\n Aaron Rodgers is coming off of arguably the best season of his career, which is truly saying something. The reigning MVP took the Green Bay Packers all the way to the NFC Championship Game despite having only Davante Adams and Robert Tonyan as consistent weapons in the passing game. Marquez Valdes-Scantling has shown some flashes, but Will Fuller would be a sizable upgrade as the deep threat in this offense. Assuming he can stay healthy for a full season, this offense could be near-unstoppable.<\/p>\n Juju Smith-Schuster said he wants to remain a Steeler for life, but the feeling is not mutual. All signs point towards the two sides parting ways, which means Smith-Schuster is going towards the highest bidder. That team will probably be the New York Jets, as they have money to burn and a need to bring in a proven commodity at the position.<\/p>\n Curtis Samuel is the perfect wide receiver for New England\u2019s offense. The former second-round pick can truly do it all, capable of lining up all over the formation and making plays at all three levels of the field. Bill Belichick loves versatility, and Samuel\u2019s ability to play both running back and receiver should be a huge draw for the eight-time Super Bowl champion. The Patriots have one of the worst supporting casts in the league, and Samuel would go a long way in giving New England\u2019s quarterback a fair shot at success.<\/p>\n The Baltimore Ravens will always be a run-first offense as long as Lamar Jackson is around, but they still need to throw the ball better. Mark Andrews is a great tight end and Marquise Brown has his moments, but there is nothing behind those two. Coming off the best season of his career, Corey Davis is the perfect complement to the aforementioned duo and should give Jackson all the help he needs to run this offense.<\/p>\n [pickup_prop id=”3945″]<\/p>\n Since Corey Davis is gone in this scenario, the Tennessee Titans need to find another free agent wide receiver. A.J. Brown is a phenomenal talent, but he\u2019ll need somebody on the opposite side of the field. Hilton and Davis are completely different types of receivers, but the Titans are pressed for cap space and will probably have to go bargain hunting in the coming weeks. Hilton probably won\u2019t demand much on the open market and could be one of the best values out there if he can return to form in 2021.<\/p>\n One free agent wide receiver just isn\u2019t enough for the New England Patriots, as the entire depth chart needs to be rebuilt from the ground up. Marvin Jones is no spring chicken, but the former Detroit Lion still has plenty of gas left in his tank. Having Jones and Samuel out wide with Jakobi Meyers in the slot gives New England a respectable set of pass-catchers.<\/p>\n Antonio Brown didn\u2019t look like the Antonio Brown of old last year, but he can still be a viable starter. The former Pittsburgh Steeler will probably follow the money in 2021, but it\u2019s hard to imagine a team placing too much trust in Brown, considering all of his off-field issues. Because of this, I predict he\u2019ll return to Tampa Bay on a one-year deal to prove he can stay out of trouble.<\/p>\n John Brown battled injuries throughout the 2020 season, but still looked the part when healthy. The same cannot be said for Henry Ruggs and Bryan Edwards, as both rookies struggled to do much of anything for the vast majority of the year. It\u2019s far too early to throw in the towel on both players, but Las Vegas needs to be prepared in case neither player takes the next leap. Brown is a great proven commodity that should make a great complementary weapon in this passing attack.<\/p>\n With Juju Smith-Schuster heading out the door, the Pittsburgh Steelers suddenly find themselves in need of a good slot receiver. Nelson Agholor is more than enough to fill this void, as the former Philadelphia Eagle thrived during his time with the Las Vegas Raiders.
