Longtime NFL offensive lineman Trent Brown<\/a> is returning to his former team. According to<\/a> NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the New England Patriots<\/a> are expected to trade for Trent Brown in the coming days. Brown, a former seventh-round pick, spent the 2018 season in New England and played a huge role in helping the organization win their sixth Super Bowl.<\/p>\n

NFL Rumors: Las Vegas Raiders Trade Trent Brown to New England Patriots<\/h2>\n

This marks Brown’s second stint in New England, as the former longtime right tackle spent the 2018 season protecting Tom Brady<\/a>‘s blindside. After losing Nate Solder<\/a> to free agency, the Patriots acquired Brown to compete with first-round rookie Isaiah Wynn<\/a> for the starting left tackle position. Brown became the starter by default, as Wynn tore his Achilles early in the preseason. However, the former seventh-round pick was easily up for the task, as the 2018 Patriots had one of the best offensive lines in the league. Brown played a huge role in New England’s Super Bowl run, as he and the rest of the offensive line helped keep Brady upright against elite pass rushers like Joey Bosa<\/a>, Dee Ford<\/a>, and Aaron Donald<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Brown initially entered the league as a seventh-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. An absolute monster of a man, Brown won a spot on the roster, and even started two games as a rookie. The Florida product turned built upon his rookie success, starting a full 16 games at right tackle in 2016. He maintained his starting job in 2017, although injury limited him to just 10 games. That following offseason, New England acquired Brown’s services during the NFL Draft.<\/p>\n

Following his success with the Patriots, Brown signed a record-setting contract with the Las Vegas Raiders. Returning to his natural right tackle position, the 6′-8″, 380-pound tackle played well when on the field. However, injury limited him to just 16 games over the past two seasons.<\/p>\n
