As of this posting, the length and value of the deal are not available to the public. McPhee spent the 2019 and 2020 seasons with the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/nfl-teams2\/ravens\/\" target=\"_self\">Baltimore Ravens<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">LB Pernell McPhee, who played for Baltimore from 2011-2014 and then again the past two seasons, has reached agreement to resign with Baltimore, per source.<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AdamSchefter\/status\/1370356841025310725?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">March 12, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h2>Pernell McPhee, Baltimore Ravens, Agree to Contract<\/h2>\n<p>Across 22 games with the Ravens in 2019 and 2020, McPhee racked up six sacks and 49 total pressures. He was a productive run defender in Baltimore, posting PFF run-defense grades of 80.3 and 75.8 in those seasons.<\/p>\n<p>Before his time with the Ravens, McPhee played for <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2021\/01\/30\/washington-football-team-seven-round-mock-draft-1-0\/\" target=\"_self\">Washington<\/a>. In 13 games with Washington, McPhee failed to record a sack.<\/p>\n<p>Before Washington, McPhee spent three seasons with the Chicago Bears. In these seasons, McPhee totaled 14 sacks, including six in 2015. He had 66 pressures in 2015. He earned an overall 85.9 PFF grade, a career high. McPhee also recorded the only interception of his career in 2015.<\/p>\n<p>McPhee spent the first four seasons of his career in Baltimore. He was a member of the 2012 Super Bowl-winning roster, but he only recorded 1.5 sacks during the season. He had a sack against <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/M\/MannPe00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Peyton Manning<\/a> and the Denver Broncos in the divisional round of the playoffs, but he only played 26 snaps in the Super Bowl.<\/p>\n<p>McPhee&#8217;s best season came in 2014. As the third wheel to All-Pro <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/D\/DumeEl20.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Elvis Dumervil<\/a> and former Defensive Player of the Year <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/S\/SuggTe99.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Terrell Suggs<\/a>, McPhee had 7.5 sacks.<\/p>\n<p>Across McPhee&#8217;s 10 seasons in the NFL, he has an impressive five multi-sack games including a pair against the Cleveland Browns.<\/p>\n<p>The Ravens snagged McPhee with the final pick in the fifth round of the 2011 draft. Among those drafted on Day 3 of the 2011 draft, McPhee&#8217;s career 37.0 sacks ranks first. For the entire draft, McPhee ranks 14th in sacks, but seven of the 13 ahead of McPhee are former All-Pros. Only <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/S\/SheaJa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jabaal Sheard<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/C\/ClayAd00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Adrian Clayborn<\/a> have more sacks without a Pro Bowl appearance than McPhee.<\/p>\n<p>McPhee attended Mississippi State. Across two seasons for the Bulldogs, McPhee recorded 22 tackles for loss, seven sacks, seven pass deflections, and a pair of forced fumbles.
