After sitting out all of 2019, the former first-round pick he can still play at an elite level in 2020. He’s going to get paid, and there are plenty of teams that would love to secure his services.

[pickup_prop id=”5047″]

2021 NFL Free Agent Team Fits: Trent Williams

Cincinnati Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals have their long-term answer at quarterback in Joe Burrow. Now, they just need to get someone to protect him. Burrow had one of the worst offensive lines in the league as a rookie, and the constant battering led to a season-ending ACL injury. Early reports indicate that Burrow will be ready for the start of the 2021 season, and Cincinnati needs to make sure that he can feel comfortable in the pocket. Signing Trent Williams is the best way to do this, as he’d immediately shore up Burrow’s blindside.

Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills have a fantastic roster. Josh Allen looked like a legitimate stud in 2020, the wide receiver core might just be the best in the league, and the defense is good enough to get the job done. The one missing ingredient is an upgrade on the offensive line, as this pedestrian group could certainly use a shot in the arm. The Bills would definitely need to get creative with the salary cap, but Williams would take this team from good to great and dramatically increase their odds of winning it all in 2021.

Los Angeles Chargers

According to Pro Football Focus, the Los Angeles Chargers had the worst offensive line in football last year. The fact Justin Herbert looked as good as he did behind such abhorrent pass protection is a testament to his talents, but just imagine how good he could look with league-average blocking. It’s going to be hard for anyone to beat the Kansas City Chiefs for the division crown, but signing Williams will go a long way in the efforts to dethrone the division champion.

Miami Dolphins

Tua Tagovailoa had a terrible rookie season, but the Miami Dolphins aren’t willing to give up on the former first-round pick. After all, the Alabama product was coming back from a serious hip injury and didn’t have much to work with in terms of receivers or offensive line. Truthfully, the Dolphins are one year ahead in their rebuild efforts, and they still have plenty of salary cap space with which to improve the roster. Using free agency to rebuild the offensive line and the NFL Draft to load up on weapons is probably the best way to see if Tagovailoa has what it takes to be a great NFL quarterback.

Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars need help at literally every position, except quarterback. Trevor Lawrence will be a Jaguar in a couple months, but Urban Meyer and company will need to find someone to protect him. Armed with the most salary cap space in the league, the Jaguars have the resources to bring in Williams, and knowing that Trevor Lawrence is right around the corner should help their sales pitch.

Main photo:
Embed from Getty Images

Five Trent Williams Free Agent Team Fits: Williams proved he can still be an elite offensive tackle in 2020 and should have plenty of suitors

[54,3,7,13,18,4,6431
177,330,135,1501,7384,1608,948
post-104776","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-editorials","category-bills","category-bengals","category-jaguars","category-chargers","category-dolphins","category-nfl-teams","tag-buffalo-bills","tag-cincinnati-bengals","tag-jacksonville-jaguars","tag-los-angeles-chargers","tag-miami-dolphins-rumors","tag-nfl-free-agency","tag-trent-williams
["GET
