He saw no action as a rookie but found a home on the Ravens in 2017. Skura entered the season as the primary backup to Ryan Jensen at center but got his first taste of NFL action at right guard. Due to an Injury to Marshal Yanda, the Ravens offensive line was shuffled and Skura officially had a starting role. He would finish the season playing 738 snaps while giving up one sack and committing just one penalty.

In 2018, Skura entered Ravens training camp as the favorite to replace Jensen after his move to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He won the job out of camp over rookie Bradley Bozeman and went on to play a career-high 1,189 snaps on the season. His performance in 2018 wasn’t great but it was good enough for head coach John Harbaugh to trust him again in the following year. Skura started 2019 as the Ravens starting center and played the best football of his career. His season was cut short due to a leg injury Week 11 against the Los Angeles Rams but he finished the year posting a career-best 68.7 overall grade per Pro Football Focus in the 12 games he started.

Skura started 2020 as the Ravens starting center. However, he had a number of blunders over the course of the season. The Ravens offensive line struggled in pass protection within the interior of the line and Skura was at the forefront. Things got even worse Week 10 against the New England Patriots. In horrible weather conditions, Skura fumbled three snaps on the night before eventually being benched. He finished the season with a career-worst 50.3 grade per PFF.</p

Main photo:
Embed from Getty Images

After playing multiple positions on the interior of the Baltimore Ravens offensive line, Matt Skura has signed a new contract.

[36,10
7234,7432,4600,246
post-104501","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-nfl-news","category-ravens","tag-2021-nfl-free-agency","tag-baltimore-ravens-roster","tag-matt-skura","tag-nfl-news
["GET
