Bid D won’t be happy to see the Boys in Blue are outside the top ten in odds to win Super Bowl 56 in 2022 at SoFi stadium in Inglewood, California. Draft Kings has Dallas tied in a five-way tie for 12th highest odds to win Super Bowl 56. Headlining next season’s odds is none other than the Kansas City Chiefs. According to these odds, Dallas has a host of NFC teams to go through before even reaching the Super Bowl. At least the Cowboys are garnishing a small amount of respect at 28:1 compared to the next highest NFC East team: Philadelphia Eagles at 50:1. (Super Bowl 2022 Odds)

[pickup_prop id=”4349″]

Dallas Cowboys Odds to Win Super Bowl 56; Not Great

The odds-makers clearly believe Dallas is more than a few pieces away from seriously contending for a Super Bowl. The Dallas Cowboys odds to win Super Bowl 56 are disappointing considering recent team success and the addition of young talent. Dallas looks to get healthy this off-season as key players have had successful surgeries and expect to make full recoveries by the start of the season. Key injuries include: Dak Prescott, Tyron Smith, La’el Collins, Cameron Erving, and Zack Martin. The Cowboys also have the NFL draft and a top 10 pick to add to their defensive ranks. Current mock drafts have Dallas landing on a cornerback, line-backer, or edge rusher to fortify the porous defense.

Surprising Odds-Leaders

There are some surprising teams in the top 10. The San Francisco 49ers, Cleveland Browns, and Miami Dolphins all have better odds to win Super Bowl 56 than the Dallas Cowboys. All three of these teams have question marks at multiple positions and play in highly competitive divisions, making their roads to the Super Bowl-or even the playoffs-difficult to say the least.

San Francisco 49ers Question Marks

The 49ers are surprising, as they struggled to win this season after their myriad of injuries. Giving them good odds assumes they recover from injury and pick up right where they left off. Unfortunately for the 49ers, they still have questions at quarterback. With trade rumors flying around involving Jimmy Garoppolo and Matthew Stafford (now with the Los Angeles Rams), It’s apparent that the 49ers coaching staff and front office is losing confidence in Garoppolo.

PFF Grade since 2018:
🔸 Kirk Cousins: 88.9 (7th)
🔸 Jimmy Garoppolo: 75.6 (T-22nd) pic.twitter.com/aW4TmiZO3e

— PFF (@PFF) February 1, 2021

Cleveland Browns Emergence

The Cleveland Browns showed some early spark after drafting Baker Mayfield first overall in 2018, but quickly fell back to the NFL’s basement missing the playoffs in Mayfield’s rookie season. The Browns were an even bigger disappointment after trading for Odell Beckham Jr. in the off-season before missing the playoffs and adding to their 18 year playoff drought. The 2020 season started off rough for the Browns as Mayfield looked to disappoint again before turning the corner and finishing as one of the most efficient passers in the NFL. Despite the Browns finding success in the second half of the 2020 season, Cleveland plays in an extremely difficulty division and has yet to find success in consecutive seasons in over a decade.

Miami’s Two Quarterback System

The Miami Dolphins are another huge surprise here. Miami used their 2020 draft pick on Tua Tagovailoa, the apparent quarterback in waiting. Tagovailoa failed to earn a starting position over the journeyman Ryan Fitzpatrick. Roughly halfway through the season, the Dolphins coaching staff elected to name Tagovailoa the starter, which didn’t last long. Multiple times throughout the rest of the season, Ryan Fitzpatrick replaced Tagovailoa as the quarterback as the rookie was unable to lead his team to a victory. Recent stories have surfaced about multiple players questioning Tagovailoa’s talent and ability to win as a quarterback in the NFL. With these issues, the Dolphins have too many questions to be considered as a serious Super Bowl contender. (Tua Tagovailoa’s Teammates Mercilessly Disrespect Him)

Issues in Dallas

Dallas has question marks of their own. Dak Prescott coming off a major ankle surgery is a big reason Dallas could potentially miss the playoffs. Another big issue: Prescott may not even be in Dallas uniform with free agency looming. The quarterback market has exploded and many teams are in need of a signal caller. If another team is willing to pay Prescott $40 million, he may elect to jump the proverbial ship. The Cowboys offensive line is nearly ancient as multiple linemen are pushing, or have reached, age 30. The defense continues to be a big problem for Dallas as well. With a multitude of injuries and shrinking salary cap woes, it’s unlikely Dallas will be able to sign big defensive names. The Cowboys will look to the NFL draft to solidify the defense at every level.

Cautious Optimism for Dallas Fans

All that being said, we know Dallas have a prolific run game when Ezekiel Elliott runs hard behind a healthy offensive line. We also know Prescott continues to improve each season and now has a dangerous receiving core with the veteran leadership of Amari Cooper, and the emergence of rookie CeeDee Lamb. Cowboy’s fans should approach the season with cautious optimism as the Super Bowl window appears to be slightly open for the coming seasons

Main photo:
Embed from Getty Images

Odds to win Super Bowl 56 should disappoint Dallas Cowboys fans.
