But, the Packers need their offense to be multi-dimensional in order to control said destiny. This season, the Packers have had a few instances where they become one dimensional. If they want to win a Super Bowl, they can’t allow it to happen again.

The Green Bay Packers Offense: Where They Have Occasionally Gone Wrong

The Most Recent Dud

The most recent occasion where the offense was one dimensional was two weeks ago against the Carolina Panthers. The Packers got into a bruiser of a game and just could not throw the ball. They couldn’t. They were out of sync. Aaron Rodgers was off on his timing of throws. Davante Adams couldn’t get open nor could he separate on completions. They had to strictly go to the running game, which is something that clearly bothers Rodgers. He likes to air it out a fair amount of the time but he ranks 12th in passing attempts per game. So, Rodgers does like to distribute the ball but he isn’t being relied on to carry the offense. But, the running game shouldn’t be the only offensive focal point either.

The fact that Aaron Jones had to carry the Green Bay Packers offense to a win this late in the season was troubling. Granted, Aaron Jones is one of five running backs this season to rush for over 1,000 yards so if he needs to carry the offense for a game, he can. Rodgers was quoted after this game saying “That kind of football is not going to beat a lot of teams…the way we played on offense, we’re not going to beat anybody in the playoffs.”

Not the First Time

Carolina wasn’t the only time this season where the Packers looked one dimensional on offense. Games against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Jacksonville Jaguars looked stale. Both games, the passing game could not find life. The end result? A staggering 38-10 loss to the Buccaneers and a marginal 24-20 victory over the worst team in the league, the Jaguars. In each of these poor performances on offense, the opponent blitzed Aaron Rodgers a majority of the game.

Leaving Rodgers with nothing to do but scramble and try to create something. And in each game the Packers went away from the running game for a bit to try to separate or claw their way back into a game. It’s a recipe for a quick playoff exit. However, a great win over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday have the Packers looking pretty good to get the #1 seed in the NFC.

What the Green Bay Packers Offense Needs To Do

Aaron Rodgers knows this offense can be absolutely lethal. But when they struggle, Rodgerse gets frustrated and the team becomes easy to beat due to switching to either just running or throwing the ball. The Packers will be facing the best of the best from here on out. Teams with legit defenses that will blitz. The Packers need to be ready and need to stick to their multi-dimensional offense in order to get to the Super Bowl.

Main Photo:
Embed from Getty Images

This season, the Green Bay Packers offense has had a few instances where they became one-dimensional.
