Top 2024 Fantasy Football Relevant Free Agents

NFL free agents are close to being able to sign new deals, and that has a big impact on fantasy football. Here are the top names to monitor.
Top Free Agents Fantasy Football

Free agents making an impact for a new team the following season is a tale as old as time. Deandre Hopkins was the WR22 after uniting with Will Levis last year. JuJu Smith-Schuster was last seen as the WR27 in Kansas City (just pretend the New England thing didn’t happen). The top free agents in this class could make some splashes in fantasy football, and it’s worth monitoring.

Top 2024 Fantasy Football Relevant Free Agents

1. Michael Pittman Jr.

Now that we know where Mike Evans will be playing in 2023, Pittman is the top wide receiver in free agency. He has three years of solid production under his belt, and even if he stays in Indianapolis he’ll be a difference maker.

Dream Fits: Carolina Panthers, Indianapolis Colts, Kansas City Chiefs

2. Saquon Barkley

How often is a top running back going to hit the market? Well, it feels like every year now, but Barkley was the lifeblood of New York and now gets a chance to sign with a competing team. Whether he ring chases or tries to secure the bag, he still has plenty of juice for our 2024 fantasy football teams.

Dream Fits: Baltimore Ravens, Green Bay Packers, Houston Texans

3. Derrick Henry

So about the top running back comment. Henry is a one year mercenary with a highlight reel that compares to the best ever. Whatever team he goes to, he’ll be an immediate producer as a goal line back and still can break off a couple of nice long ones for our fantasy teams. It’s not often a running back at this age is this productive, and he was second in the league in rushing yards last year behind a porous Tennessee Titans offensive line.

Dream Fits: Baltimore Ravens, Houston Texans, Philadelphia Eagles

4. Josh Jacobs

More running backs. MORE. It’s important to note the 2024 running back prospects are slightly weaker than in years past, so teams could look to a steady veteran presence like Jacobs before swinging on someone like Braelon Allen or Trey Benson.

Dream Fits: Minnesota Vikings, Houston Texans, Chicago Bears

5. Marquise “Hollywood” Brown

Oh how quickly we forget. Brown is one of the best deep threats in the league, and it wasn’t so long ago that Christian Kirk reset the wide receiver market on his way to a career resurgence. Hollywood can take the top off a defense, and in the right system would be a great dart throw in best ball leagues.

Dream Fits: Dallas Cowboys, Jacksonville Jaguars, New York Jets

6. Calvin Ridley

If he stays in Jacksonville they’re going to have to give up a higher draft pick, and lose out on a compensatory pick. So whether he leaves, or signs a little later to stick around there’s a big name wide receiver available. He brings a unique skillset to a lot of teams missing a top dog, and would make an immediate impact to their offense.

Dream Fits: Baltimore Ravens, Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Chargers

Honorable Mentions

Kirk Cousins is a name to watch not just for himself, but he’s a park and bark quarterback who elevates the receivers around him. Austin Ekeler is likely toast, but if he’s the receiving option in Kansas City he’s going to fly up draft boards. The Saints desperately need a WR2 next to Olave, and whether it’s Gabe Davis, Tyler Boyd or another veteran (if they can figure out their cap space purgatory) they’ll be a nice late round target.
