Jacksonville Jaguars 2021 Wide Receiver Outlook

The Jacksonville Jaguars 2021 wide receiver depth is loaded with talent. D.J. Chark and Leviska Shenault lead the way at the position.

The Jacksonville Jaguars 2021 wide receiver depth is stacked from top to bottom. As the team transitions into a new era, the pass catchers could be the key to an explosive offense in Duval this season.

Looking at the Jacksonville Jaguars 2021 Wide Receiver Corps

While the quarterback competition is still up in the air, the receiving corps is pretty much decided. There will be position battles for backup spots heading into the season. As the pre-season nears, the Jaguars coaching staff and fans will get a better evaluation of just how great this unit can be.

Jacksonville lost DeDe Westbrook and Keelan Cole in the off-season. However, the roster is stacked with talent at the position heading into the 2021 NFL season.

D.J. Chark Primed for Breakout Year

Starting with D.J. Chark, the Jaguars’ primary wideout is expected to have another solid season in 2021. Last season, he caught 53 passes for 706 yards and five touchdowns. Urban Meyer said in the off-season that he wants more production from Chark. The talented wideout should be the Jaguars’ top target on the outside in 2021. If he can get back to his full self, Chark could pave the way for Jacksonville to have a solid receiving corps in 2021.

The success of the receivers will depend on how well Chark is producing. He is the new leader of the wideouts and has to step up from his season in 2020.

Laviska Shenault Could Shine in 2021

Laviska Shenault has been regarded as the up-and-coming receiver in Duval. He caught 58 passes for 600 yards and five touchdowns a season ago. He is a great duo piece to Chark and is in for a breakout year this season. His ability to gain yards after contact could help keep drives alive and improve his numbers when the season begins.

While Shenault is a solid number two wideout, he can compete with Chark for the top spot. However, Shenault will likely be the second wideout on the outside in 2021. He can still produce at that spot, though. His numbers should drastically improve this year given how dynamic of a player he is.

Collin Johnson’s

Collin Johnson caught 40 passes for 471 yards and just two touchdowns in 2020. But, he is primed for a star-studded year in 2021. Johnson is terrific after the catch and can burst down the sideline to get open. With Trevor Lawrence most likely throwing him passes, Johnson will be a solid third receiver to an already stacked Jaguars wide receivers room.

The Jacksonville Jaguars wide receivers are in for a big year in 2021. This roster has talent across the board at the position. Chark, Shenault, and Johnson will all lead the way in terms of making 2021 a successful year in the passing attack. As long as each player is contributing, Jacksonville could end up with the top receiving corps in the AFC South. Furthermore, this could end up as one of the top receiving corps in the entire NFL.

The 2021 NFL season is quickly approaching. The Jaguars have the talent to surprise a lot of critics this season. One key piece to the offense is how well the wide receivers produce on the outside. With training camp underway and the pre-season just around the corner, this unit is preparing to ball out in Duval.
