{"id":986,"date":"2017-02-21T10:30:14","date_gmt":"2017-02-21T15:30:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lastwordonmotorsport.com\/?p=986"},"modified":"2017-02-21T10:30:14","modified_gmt":"2017-02-21T15:30:14","slug":"renault-reveal-r-s-17-london","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2017\/02\/21\/renault-reveal-r-s-17-london\/","title":{"rendered":"Renault F1 Team reveal the R.S.17 in London"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong>Renault F1 Team<\/strong> have become the second team this year to unveil their car for the upcoming <strong>2017 Formula 1 Season<\/strong>, following the release of the<strong>\u00a0Sauber\u00a0C36 <\/strong>yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Renault unveiled the R.S.17 in London where the new aerodynamic regulations for the 2017 Formula 1 Season were put on display. Like the Sauber C36, the <strong>Renault R.S.17<\/strong> also sports a fin on the engine cover, along with the &#8216;thumb&#8217; style nose that has been used by a number of teams up and down the grid since 2015. Once again, a more angular and wider front wing has been used, as well as a lower rear wing, complying with the new regulations.<\/p>\n<p>Like last year, Renault have once again adopted a yellow and black livery on the car, however, black is more prominent than it was last year in the colour scheme.<\/p>\n<p>The R.S.17 will be driven by <strong>Nico Hulkenberg<\/strong> and <strong>Jolyon Palmer<\/strong> over the course of the 2017 season,\u00a0with Hulkenberg joining Renault after leaving <strong>Force India<\/strong> at the end of last year. 2017 marks Palmer&#8217;s second season in F1, and second season at the Enstone-based team. <strong>Sergey Sirotkin<\/strong> will act as the team&#8217;s development driver.<\/p>\n<p>The Renault R.S.17 will make its debut next week on the first day of the first Formula 1 \u00a0pre-season test at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Renault F1 Team have become the second team this year to unveil their car for the upcoming 2017 Formula 1 Season, following the release of the\u00a0Sauber\u00a0C36 yesterday.
