Cory Eliason\u00a0<\/strong>passed\u00a0Logan Schuchart\u00a0<\/strong>to take the white flag during the final night of the DIRTCar Nationals on Sunday.<\/p>\n

As the two sped past the start-finish line, it looked like it would be a phenomenal battle on the final lap. Schuchart had gotten back by Eliason and they were slated to go into the final turn neck-and-neck.<\/p>\n

Eliason would end up blowing his engine, bringing out a caution on the final lap and a green-white-checkered finish.<\/p>\n

WoO SC: Logan Schuchart takes Volusia in GWC Finish<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Schuchart would go on to win, handily after the two-lap shootout, but\u00a0Daryn Pittman\u00a0<\/strong>said that, had Eliason’s engine not blown, it would have been anyone’s race going into the final turn.<\/p>\n

“I couldn’t believe how far [Schuchart] came back to me and [Eliason],” Pittman said on the DirtVision broadcast. “Honestly, I think it was anybody’s race going down the backstretch there on the white flag lap.”<\/p>\n

The win for Schuchart is his first of the 2020 season and first Outlaws victory since the final visit to Eldora last season.<\/p>\n

It wrapped up a miraculous weekend for Schuchart, who finished second on Friday night and took a provisional (started 25th) on Saturday to a top-five finish.<\/p>\n

“I was kind of timid to go up to the top,” Shuchart said on the DirtVision broadcast.” But, either way, I really wanted one of these gators. I’m glad we got one.”<\/p>\n
