{"id":7364,"date":"2019-11-14T02:26:30","date_gmt":"2019-11-14T07:26:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lastwordonmotorsport.com\/?p=7364"},"modified":"2019-11-14T02:26:30","modified_gmt":"2019-11-14T07:26:30","slug":"justin-allgaier-team-peaking","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2019\/11\/14\/justin-allgaier-team-peaking\/","title":{"rendered":"Justin Allgaier, 7 Team peaking, trying to upset Big Three"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>All anyone has heard or seen this season when watching the NASCAR Xfinity Series has been total domination put down by the trio of <strong>Christopher Bell, Cole Custer<\/strong>, and <strong>Tyler Reddick<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The three have combined to win 20 of the 32 Xfinity races in the 2019 season.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Justin Allgaier, <\/strong>who raced his way into the Championship 4 by winning at ISM Raceway last weekend, is trying for his second on Saturday at Homestead.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>J<\/strong><strong>ustin Allgaier, 7 Team peaking, trying to upset Big Three<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>In his fourth year back in the Xfinity series with JR Motorsports, the Riverton, Illinois native enters the final race of the season with a chance to win the title for a third time.<\/p>\n<p>It seems like a tall task, but Allgaier is coming into this weekend confidently, and rightfully so.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA lot of the story lines this year have been surrounding the other three contenders,\u201d Allgaier said. \u201cThey\u2019ve been really strong and they\u2019ve won a lot of races, but I feel like this BRANDT Professional Agriculture team is peaking at the right time and you can\u2019t count us out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Allgaier is on to something there.<\/p>\n<p>His No. 7 team has pitched lights out, in the playoffs, averaging a 3.7 finish in the six-race postseason.<\/p>\n<p>During that span, he has only failed to finish in the top five once \u2013 when he finished in sixth at Texas two weeks ago.<\/p>\n<p>It seems like all of the success has just been a matter of time for Allgaier this season, too. He hasn\u2019t settled for a finish outside of the top 10 since the first weekend of July at Daytona.<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019ll need that success to continue, however, if he wants to win the title.<\/p>\n<p>His three competitors have shown very little signs of weakness at Homestead.<\/p>\n<p>Bell finished 11<sup>th<\/sup> in Miami a year ago in his first full season with Joe Gibbs\u2019 squad, and that\u2019s the exception.<\/p>\n<p>Custer won the event two years ago even though he didn\u2019t make the Championship 4, while Reddick won last season to capture his first title.<\/p>\n<p>Allgaier has finished in the top 10 just twice at Homestead despite his nine starts there. That\u2019s why this season, he\u2019s going into it with a different mindset.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re going to go to Homestead and have some fun,\u201d Allgaier said. \u201cWe\u2019re going into this weekend with a new mentality and a new energy and we\u2019re going to have a shot at winning a championship. I can\u2019t wait to see what we can go there and do this weekend.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Qualifying for the race is scheduled for 12:35 p.m. ET on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsports.com\/live\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NBCSN<\/a> while the race broadcast will start at 3:30 p.m. ET on the same network.<\/p>\n<p>Whether it will be momentum or results, the title will be decided Saturday afternoon, and the race could be one for the ages.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>All anyone has heard or seen this season when watching the NASCAR Xfinity Series has been total domination put down by the trio of Christopher Bell, Cole Custer, and Tyler Reddick.
