In 2018 they announced a partnership with Bristol Motor Speedway to make necessary upgrades to the track to once again host NASCAR events of that nature.

The World of Outlaws heading there for the first time makes it all the more valuable.

The back-to-back event, tabbed the Music City Nationals, will pay $1,000 to start on Friday and $15,000 to win. On Saturday it jumps to $1,500 to start and $25,000 to win – one of the biggest winner purses of the season to date.

Oh yeah, and it’ll be anyone’s race. Practice on Thursday evening was rained out which means it will be quite literally a brand-new track this weekend.

Donny Schatz kept the lead in the points standings and even gained six points on Brad Sweet after Monday’s Memorial Day race at Lawrenceberg.

Not to mention Daryn Pittman just a few points back in the No. 83 entry as the 2013 series champion is off to a fantastic start this year.

The top three have been impressive as expected.

Though all the momentum right now is with the drivers that sit fourth and fifth in the standings.

David Gravel and Logan Schuchart have been the only drivers to earn three wins on the young season with both of their third victories coming in the past two weeks.

The pair is on a tear, right now.

Gravel made the transition at the start of the season to the Jason Johnson Racing No. 41 entry. Granted, it took a while for them to hit their stride, but since his first win of the year on the west coast, Gravel has gone on a bit of a roll.

He picked up a win three races later in Arizona before earning his series leading (at the time) third win at Williams Grove five races after that.

It’s been five races since his last victory – does that mean Gravel is due to win the first ever race at Nashville?

Schuchart on the other hand had a wild way of getting to win No. 3, beating out four drivers – including Gravel that saw flat right rear tires end their nights just a few laps early at Charlotte.

No matter who ends up winning at Nashville, it’s sure to be a surprise. Tune in to Dirt Vision to see the racing live on both Friday and Saturday night.

World of Outlaws Sprint Car Standings

Position

Driver

Points

Behind

1

Donny Schatz

2940

2

Brad Sweet

2892

-48

3

Daryn Pittman

2852

-88

4

David Gravel

2830

-110

5

Logan Schuchart

2770

-170

6

Shane Stewart

2734

-206

7

Carson Macedo

2710

-230

8

Ian Madsen

2696

-244

9

Kraig Kinser

2522

-418

10

S.
