Lewis Hamilton<\/strong> secured an easy win at the Japanese GP<\/strong><\/a> and extended his lead in the drivers\u2019 championship over Sebastian Vettel<\/strong> to 67-points. Hamilton recorded his 71st<\/sup> career win and his ninth win of the 2018 season. Valtteri Bottas<\/strong> finished second for a second consecutive Mercedes 1-2. Max Verstappen<\/strong> completed the podium places, his third consecutive podium finish at Suzuka.<\/p>\n

Daniel Ricciardo <\/strong>finished fourth, Kimi Raikkonen <\/strong>and Sebastian Vettel <\/strong>finished fifth and sixth respectively. Sergio Perez <\/strong>finished seventh and \u201cbest of the rest\u201d<\/em>. Romain Grosjean<\/strong>, Esteban Ocon<\/strong>, and Carlos Sainz <\/strong>rounded off the top 10 positions.<\/p>\n

The race started under clear and sunny skies with air temperature at 27 degrees C and track temperatures at 34 degrees C at the Suzuka <\/strong>circuit. Mercedes had a front row lockout with Hamilton on <\/strong><\/a>pole.<\/p>\n
