Formula E is more competitive than Formula 1<\/strong>, according to the former Red Bull driver Mark Webber<\/strong>. The Australian driver finished third in the drivers\u2019 world championship on three occasions before retiring from F1 in 2013. Webber went on to win the World Endurance Championship (WEC<\/strong>) two years later.<\/p>\n

Mark Webber- Formula E is Most Competitive Single-Seater Championship<\/h1>\n

\u201c[Formula E] is obviously going places,\u201d<\/em> Webber told Motorsport Week.<\/p>\n

“The depth of drivers here is probably the most competitive championship we have on four wheels, in terms of the depth of drivers and how tight the competition is.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

“It looks very, very tight in terms of how competitive it is. You don’t know really who is going to win which is quite good.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Progression<\/h2>\n

This is due to the fact that Formula E<\/strong><\/a> has more spec parts than some of its counterparts like Formula 1. The parts are there to keep costs down and the racing competitive. It has progressed since the beginning and it keeps advancing every year. Nico Rosberg<\/strong><\/a> debuted the Formula E Gen2<\/strong><\/a> car at the 2018 iBerlin E-Prix. He displayed how far Formula E has come since season one.<\/p>\n

The car and technology have progressed every year since its creation. Due to the progression, the sport has seen three separate champions. Nelson Piquet Jr.<\/strong> was the first champion of Formula E in season one. Sebastien Buemi<\/strong> took the title in season two. Finally, Lucas Di Grassi<\/strong> took the title in season three and is the defending champion this season. There are only three races left on the calendar for season four and Jean-Eric Vergne<\/strong> has a commanding lead over the rest of the field.<\/p>\n

Talented Drivers<\/h2>\n

The ABB FIA Formula E Championship<\/strong> hosts many talented drivers. The most recent signing is Felipe Massa<\/a><\/strong>, the former driver for Williams F1. There are other former F1 drivers in the field, such as Jean-Eric Vergne, Nick Heidfeld, Jerome D’Ambrosio, Sam Bird<\/strong><\/a>, Sebastien Buemi and Lucas Di Grassi.<\/p>\n

Next Race<\/h2>\n

The next race will be held in Zurich, Switzerland on June 10, 2018. The 2018 Zurich E-Prix<\/strong> is the first of its kind. Not only because Formula E is bringing electric racing to the streets of Zurich. But bringing racing to Switzerland in general. This will be the first race held in the country since they banned racing after the 1955 Le Mans.<\/p>\n
