F1<\/a> has confirmed that the Monaco GP will remain a fixture on its calendar until at least 2035, following the signing of a fresh four-year extension to the existing agreement.<\/p>\n

Monaco GP secures place on Formula 1 calendar until 2035<\/h2>\n

Formula 1 has confirmed that the Monaco Grand Prix<\/a> will remain on the calendar until 2035 after a new deal was signed with the Automobile Club de Monaco.<\/p>\n

The announcement extends Monaco\u2019s contract by four years, adding to the agreement made in late 2024 that already kept the race until 2031. It means the famous event, first held in 1929 and part of the world championship since 1950, will continue for another decade.<\/p>\n

F1 hails iconic race<\/h3>\n

F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali<\/a> said the sport was proud to secure the long-term future of one of its most historic races. “The streets of Monaco have been echoing with the sound of Formula 1 since the earliest days of the sport, so I\u2019m delighted to announce the extension of this fantastic event to 2035,” he said.<\/p>\n

Domenicali called Monaco \u201c an iconic race that is loved by all drivers and fans, with a unique vibe thanks to its location on the world\u2019s most glamorous Principality.\u201d<\/p>\n

A Jewel on the calendar<\/h3>\n

The Monaco GP is often seen as Formula 1<\/a>\u2019s crown jewel. Cars race around the tight and twisting streets of Monte Carlo, passing the harbour, the casino and some of the most famous corners in motorsport. The track is narrow and overtaking is very difficult, which has led to criticism in recent years that the race can be processional.<\/p>\n

In 2025, organisers introduced a mandatory two-stop rule to try to improve the spectacle. Opinions were divided on whether it made the race more exciting, but it showed a willingness to adapt in order to keep Monaco relevant on a modern calendar<\/a> that now stretches across the world.<\/p>\n

The race has been held every year since 1955, with the exception of 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic forced its cancellation.<\/p>\n

Its prestige comes not only from the challenge it provides for drivers but also from the glamour and history that surround it. Stars from sport, film and business regularly attend, and for many fans the event symbolises the very image of Formula 1.<\/p>\n

Looking ahead, the 2026 Monaco GP will move to the first weekend in June. The change is designed to avoid a clash with the Indianapolis 500 in the United States, another major event on the same weekend.<\/p>\n

With this new extension, Formula 1<\/a> has ensured that Monaco<\/a> will remain at the heart of the championship. For the next decade, the Principality will continue to provide one of the sport\u2019s most iconic and glamorous settings.<\/p>\n
