Leclerc unhappy with recent qualifying form<\/h2>\n
To some extent, Leclerc has been a victim of his own success with regards to his race pace.<\/p>\n
Because of his prolific qualifying results throughout his career, the 27-year-old’s relative strength on race day is often overlooked.<\/p>\n
However, this year has emphasised that Leclerc is more than capable of hitting all cylinders in a Grand Prix.<\/p>\n

Despite Ferrari’s shortcomings, the #16 car has claimed several podium finishes this season.<\/p>\n
Whenever the SF-25 has been capable of giving Mercedes<\/a> and Red Bull<\/a> headaches, Leclerc has been there to capitalise.<\/p>\n However, this does not mean there is not room for improvement.<\/p>\n Ferrari’s Austrian GP updates unlocked a few tenths of performance, putting the team closer to McLaren.<\/p>\n Whilst McLaren are still comfortably fastest on Sundays, they are certainly within striking distance of the other front-runners in qualifying.<\/p>\n This has compounded Leclerc’s frustration in recent months, increasingly dissatisfied with his results on Saturday.<\/p>\n Speaking to the media in Silverstone, he was candid about his discomfort in the SF-25:<\/p>\n “Yeah, horrible. Nothing really to say, I think the pace was there for the front row but I eventually didn\u2019t do the job when I needed to.<\/em><\/p>\n “I lost the car in the last two corners and lost a lot of lap time.<\/em><\/p>\n “That\u2019s been the story of the season, I need to find back my rhythm in Qualifying – because I\u2019m really struggling and I\u2019m not putting everything together.<\/em><\/p>\n “And all the time I get out of the car there\u2019s always one thing that hasn\u2019t gone my way in Qualifying.<\/em><\/p>\n “So I\u2019m very frustrated with myself more than anything.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cI know that in the race I\u2019m doing a really good job generally, but I\u2019ve got to put everything together.”<\/em><\/p>\n Of course, Leclerc is not the only driver at Ferrari with complaints about the SF-25.<\/p>\n Lewis Hamilton’s<\/a> complaints about this year’s car are well known – even if he’s felt more at ease since the Austria upgrades.<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2025\/07\/026657a2-bb02-44c8-a69b-44f95dd6f93b-1024x683.jpg\")
