Richard Verschoor\u2019s Weekend of Frustration<\/h3>\n
Fresh from his victory in Austria<\/a>, which also put him top of the drivers’ standings, Richard Verschoor arrived at Silverstone full of confidence and determined to extend his lead. Unfortunately, difficulties began as early as Friday.<\/p>\n Qualifying proved disappointing. Verschoor could manage no better than seventh, missing out on pole by just under six hundredths of a second to Victor Martins. On social media, the Dutchman admitted he had struggled to extract the car\u2019s full potential on his second set of tyres.<\/p>\n The races brought little improvement. However, his recovery drives in both races showed encouraging pace, even if a poor qualifying put him at a disadvantage.<\/p>\n Goethe had qualified in 18th, which meant he had to start at the bottom of the grid in both races. The Red Bull<\/a> junior driver was forced to battle through the field.<\/p>\n He climbed up to 11th place in each race. In the feature race, however, his progress was hindered by a collision with Gabriele Min\u00ec shortly after exiting the pits.
