From the pole position of Victor Martins to the victories of Leonardo Fornaroli<\/a> and Jak Crawford, the British round led to intense emotions for Formula 2 fans worldwide.<\/p>\n After more than 4 years, or 1492 days, Leonardo Fornaroli finally returned to the top step of the podium.<\/p>\n For the Invicta Racing driver, Formula 3 2024 champion and now a title contender in Formula 2, the long wait since his last victory in 2021 weighed heavily. Back then, racing for Iron Lynx in Formula 4, he claimed a single win at Misano, ahead of Oliver Bearman<\/a> and Hamda Al Qubaisi.<\/p>\n That season ended with Fornaroli fifth in the standings, but his maiden single-seater triumph was a milestone. From that day on, however, he struggled to climb back onto the top step, often coming close but falling short. An example came at the Monaco Feature Race<\/a> in Formula 2, when a safety car cruelly denied him what had seemed a certain win.<\/p>\n At Silverstone in the Sprint Race, Fornaroli started from pole alongside Kush Maini. When the lights went out, the Indian driver launched faster, but Fornaroli fought back to reclaim the lead. However, this does not take away from Jak Crawford’s outstanding performance on Sunday. Starting third on the grid, the American pounced as Victor Martins faltered at the start and squeezed between Martins and Alex Dunne to take the lead.<\/p>\n Crawford then controlled the race from the front, keeping Dunne at bay even as the Irishman closed in lap by lap. Behind them, however, the real drama unfolded among the rest of the field, and the star of that battle was Browning.<\/p>\n The Englishman experienced a disappointing qualifying at his home round, ending Friday only twelfth. Saturday brought further frustration when a penalty dropped him from seventh back to twelfth. But on Sunday, determined to prove himself, Browning and his Hitech TGR car showed superior pace, with excellent traction that allowed him to carve through the field, overtaking many.<\/p>\n Opponents such as Victor Martins could not stop him. Despite the rain and tricky conditions, Browning appeared at ease in the cockpit.
