The drivers of the NTT IndyCar Series braved the heat this afternoon for round 10 of the championship during the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 2025 IndyCar Season Sees a New Driver On The Top Step, Scott Dixon Wins at Mid-Ohio<\/b><\/h3>\n

All weekend long, it was looking like this weekend\u2019s win was going to go to Dixon\u2019s Chip Ganassi teammate, Alex Palou.<\/a> Palou led for a majority of the race despite making a small mistake during the middle stages, which slightly closed the gap between him and Dixon.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

However, during the last few laps of the race, Palou slipped up going into turn 10. He went wide and slowed down a bit, which allowed DIxon to pass him. The two then battled it out, but it was ultimately Scott Dixon who took home the win.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This is Dixon\u2019s 59th IndyCar career win and his seventh time winning at Mid-Ohio. Dixon is now the only other driver aside from Palou and Kyle Kirkwood<\/a> to win a race in 2025.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The podium was completed by Palou, who finished in second, and Arrow McLaren driver Christian Lundgaard came in third.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Early Exit for Newgarden\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n

It seems like this season, Newgarden\u2019s<\/a> luck has been going from bad to worse. A caution was brought out during the beginning stages of today\u2019s race after Newgarden spun out. After a replay was shown and a rear lock-up sent him far left off track.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Newgarden went into the wall while Graham Rahal got caught up in the mess. Rahal was able to return to the race while being one lap down, while Newgarden was forced to retire.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This is Newgarden\u2019s fourth DNF of the 2025 season.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Other Notable Race Moments\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n

Unfortunately for Team Penske,<\/a> it wasn\u2019t just Newgarden who was forced to retire. Will Power came into the pits on lap 17 with an engine fire. The fire affected the rear left of the No.12 Verizon Chevrolet. because of this, the call from pit wall was to retire from the race.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Right after a pit stop, Christian Rasmussen soon found himself getting stuck in the grass. After the incident happened, team boss Ed Carpenter was heard on the Fox broadcast saying that Rasmussen ran out of fuel which resulted in him shutting down off track. Rasmussen rejoined the pack on lap 58.<\/span><\/p>\n

But it wasn\u2019t just Team Penske who went through this afternoon\u2019s race with some issues. Santino Ferrucci<\/a> was given a 3 place grid penalty this afternoon. The driver of the No.14 Chevrolet for A.J. Foyt Racing was given the penalty for avoidable contact.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ferrucci was attempting to make a move on Conor Daly<\/a> but ended up making contact with him. Despite there being enough space, Ferrucci failed to leave room, forcing Daly off track.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
